Makeup counter pet peeves

i was at a MAC store in NY in january when i was on holidays. i don't shop at MAC. i have had MAC applied to me once for a shoot when i was younger and had a reaction to it so i have never even bothered going in a MAC store. but my friend was stocking up as it was so cheap. i was incredibly sick from a flare up of a stomach condition i have. i looked like crap and was perfectly aware of it, but considering i had been in hospital in agony the day before i did not care, i just had to go with my friend who didnt know the area. and had no makeup on. i was aware of how i looked.

i noticed two of the "mua" looking at me and whispering. i have incredible hearing so i just moved a little closer but had my back to them. i could see them in the mirror still looking at me. then i heard the guy say to the girl "ergh don't you just hate it when you see girls like that not wearing any makeup when they should be! she could be so pretty if she wore makeup, look at her eyes.. and then look at the rings around them!"

i was mortified.. for them!! i was not embarrassed because i knew how i looked but i could not believe the audacity of them!!

ETA: even if i was up for a makeover, a MAC staff member would be the last person i would go to! their makeup is horrid. they can do something about their makeup, i can't do anything about my face.

no, but i really should have though when i think about it. tbh i didn't feel that they would have cared. it was the times sq store *shudder* and i'm sure they don't make their money on 'regular customers'.

it made me wonder if they sit in the corner laughing at disabled customers too!

^ That's ridiculous, what stupid sale's people. Mac makeup people always have ****ty makeup anyways, too caked on and badly applied- I am sure you looked 100 times better than them, even with no makeup .

^ haha thats what made me laugh the most. i was looking at them thinking they looked ridiculous (i kept it in my head of course, unlike them), yet they thought themselves as so much more stylish and knowledgeable than me. please.

^ that's awful! i do wonder if it's some kind of look policy in mac that you have to look completely and utterly caked in make-up. if anything, it puts me off the products! this relates to my own pet peeve: when you ask for the mua to put on a "little bit" and a little bit becomes the most gigantic amount of the product possible.

also hate it when my foundation is matched up all wrong, or when i get pestered by muas pushing for a sale when really, letting me browse is probably the best way to go!

All the MAC peeps want to do is give you the super cakey-bronzed kim kardashian look
