Of all the contemporary lines who have presented so far - BCBG aside - this is the best. Love that muted, seashell palette and her decisions on restraint vs embellishment. She knows when and where those little details work best. And the draping is wonderful! Malandrino's runway clothes are as luxe as Stella McCartney's. Somehow in manufacturing, a lot of the special details get cut out in favor of more universal styles and cuts. If she stopped courting the shopbop crowd and aimed for downtown, romantic artist types, she'd be able to showcase her more esoteric ideas in retail. I hope this collection doesn't get watered down by the time it hits stores!
