As for your impression on the differences between the true appearance and the look we get from photos or videos, I guess it generally applies to most people (models, actors, celebs) we know primarily from the media. Their bodies look very proportional and slim but still 'normal'. Then, as we happen to see them in person, we realize how much 'body' or 'weight' cameras add, as they usually turn out to be very skinny, petite or fragile. And I guess that's partly why cameras like them so much...
