Marc Jacobs S/S 2025 New York

Marc was at his best when he mixed his references with his American sportswear sensibility. I still love his collection at the Ziegfeld because even through the inspirations were there, they were truly transformed through his point of view. I'm preaching to the choir, but truly what's the point of this collection? I love fashion, but I don't think the argument "Art for art's sake" should be applied toward the industry that's based on practicality.

I'll echo everyone else's sentiments that I miss old Marc too, nothing beats his 2005-2010 years!

His collections at that time were so layered and dense, and really stand as a testament to the power of styling on the runway.

People like it because it's has very wearable components... IMO Marc is gonna make this his signature look. I see it as Marc reaching his zenith and going completely surreal and with his mastery of cut and construction it works and looks like high fashion. Plus you can take it off the hangar and wear it easily without a SA instructing how to put the piece on.

The shorts and pants with the dart point are great. The opening tops and blouses scream Manhattan artwear... There is some really unwearable extra too.

Add to CDG and Watanabe copies the Prada S/S 2000 bowling bags (but with some sort of drapery attempt).

Marc...just keep painting your nails. That´s enough, really!

The leopard print outfit does it for me, the collection is cooky as a whole, but it works

I just loved it.
I absolutely love it. He seems to be tackling a lot of different subject matters all at once. It's a very American collection we live in a time of understated luxury he's tackling that also we in a world of new riches and he's also going backwards thank Vanderbilt large shapes and different past ideals of what a woman should be. I respond a lot to color and those red velvet will absolutely beautiful. A woman should be this a woman should be that to the extremes!

Donald Trump is the president and we are officially in a new time of conservatism but it's a very different conservatism than the past so what is an artist to do well he showed that.

Tbh, after hearing about Anna and Sofia campaigning for him to take the Chanel job, I expected a tongue and cheek Chanel-esque collection.

Then I looked at the people in the attendance. He got my girl Tracee Ellis looking like a fool. Thank god for Sofia Coppola (and weirdly Nicky Hilton).

Um yes!: Marc circa 2000-2003, he really peaked then, he delivered gorgeous collections at LV (the Russian one with the black boots and fur hats.. 😮‍💨), at Marc Jacobs and his work at Marc by Marc was sometimes even more exciting.

It makes me a bit sad to see what his label became but it's representative of where he's at too, he seems consumed by theatrics and stunts, but not in an intellectual way, more through mainstream entertainment and the culture surrounding beauty/cosmetic work. The stuff he shows now, so superficial and devoid of soul and really just focused on creating moments for instagram.. that's probably what he's genuinely into and frankly, with him breaking the massive low-income demographic with that 'the Tote Bag' bag that became the bag you buy when you need a bag but can't/don't want to pay for a bag, he probably can afford it. Just like Rei!, churning out cheap s*it so they can indulge in a fancy, public exercise of purposeless 'fashun'.
