Esquivel flew into the city to try her luck at getting cast in the couture shows, only to be included in one of the most highly anticipated presentations, wearing the house's signature tweed, no less.

harpersbazaar.co.ukEvery week, Bazaar’s bookings director Megan McCluskie highlights one name to remember – from the industry’s best-known faces, to girls who are just starting out. This week, she turns her attention to Marga Esquivel.
She may have dyed her hair silver, but for Filipina model Marga Esquivel, this brought gold. As one of the busiest models on the Resort and Couture catwalks, Esquivel has been thrust into the spotlight. The 20-year-old newcomer charmed the fashion circuit with her dynamic beauty and unmistakable cheekbones, landing desirable spots in the Resort 2016 shows of the likes of Gucci and Marc Jacobs. Esquivel followed up her firm footing by scoring a coveted slot in Chanel’s Haute Couture show.
Esquivel’s striking features and elegant poise have captivated the fashion world, but she’s more than just an enviable hairstyle. “When I first saw Marga, I fell in love with her look immediately. Although her hair is the first thing you notice, you then realise that she has a universal beauty that transcends any cut or colour,” says Esquivel’s agent, Aly El at Women/360. “She also has a quiet confidence and an understated but unique sense of style that helps to define her identity as a whole and has proven to be very refreshing to the industry so far.”
Blessed with a classic beauty that has just the right amount of off-kilter charm, Esquivel is guaranteed a lucrative campaign season. She’s one of the season’s most promising propositions.

This new face surely caught your attention at the Gucci show, thanks to her striking looks and gray hair. But Marga is so much more than just a hairstyle. Growing up in the Philippines, Marga was more interested in photography than modeling, although her mother used to model in Asia. Modeling ultimately took over and this summer we spotted Marga walking for the Gucci and Marc Jacobs resort shows n New York and Chanel couture in Paris.
Marga also looks fantastic in print, evidenced by the pages of i-D's summer issue. Forum member Prymasquous thinks that “Marga seems sweet and cool. Definitely another Asian model on our radar.” We couldn’t agree more.
