That video is so great! Poor thing about the food, but I loved the Bench Boys :D

Mark Cox on his Flaunt shoot with Sam Bassett: “It was really cold that day and people were screaming at us for being in the middle of the street. Patrick and I are still alive, so it’s all fine.”

Much to the surprise of most, Mark Cox received an over the top makeover for Feld Hommes’ recent issue. Photographed by Twin-Shotone, the editorial happened to be one of those rare gems that rebel against the norm of beauty, instead looking to the imagination to create daring images. For Twin-Shotone, Mark was the ideal model. Whereas most “boys are always so STIFF”, Mark proved to be impressive because “he likes to play”, he’s “just a very nice guy.” His friendly attitude provided the story just the right emotion and furthermore “with [his] makeup, he had a lot of passion.”

DNA model Mark Cox may be currently enjoying his time as a Prada boy, but this past season, his work for Calvin Klein cemented his status as a new leading model. Tapped for both the CK apparel and accessories campaign, Mark went clean and gritty for the label. Finding out about his Klein bookings was most definitely a career highlight. He had been “on option a few times before…so you can imagine how happy [he] was when [he] got it after missing out a few times.” Asked about his feelings when the campaign actually came out, Mark revealed that “it’s still strange to see [himself].” He’ll probably never get over the surreal aspect–especially when getting “messages from back home that friends see [him] in shopping malls and bus stops.” But on to more important matters, how did his accessories shoot go with Fabien Baron? As Mark explained, “They spray painted me and oiled me up. And the water is the finishing touch, you have no idea how much water and sand I had in my ears after the shoot, and the best part was that I got home all covered in sand and lotion and my shower stopped working for a couple of hours!!!!!” Guess there’s one thing that can get in between Mark and his Calvins–sand.

Mark Cox: I stay in hotels during fashion week because I love to wake up with a good breakfast!!

What is your most memorable shoot to date?
Mark Cox: I had a few memorable shoots. One of them is with Mert & Marcus for W magazine last year…shooting with them is amazing.

Favorite food?

Mark Cox: Pasta for sure.

Where do you currently live?

Mark Cox: I live in NYC.

Mark Cox: Hanging out with friends, seeing movies, find a good restaurant to eat and enjoy the city.

What does the future hold for Mark Cox?

Mark Cox: I have no idea what the future will bring me. I never though I would be doing this so who knows what else may come my way.

story behind the story
“That’s my place in Milan. I wanted to shoot an intimistic story. Simple outfits as he was relaxing at his place. I wanted to shoot Mark again since the first time we met when we worked for models.com. He’s one of the letter men in “From Milan With Love”. He’s professional and friendly at the same time. The right combination between work and private life.” – Saverio Cardia

Cardia always takes such beautiful and intimate portraits, but these are by far my favorites of his. Mark is perfection.
