I love the last two shots with Liu. that strong, graphic attitude appeals to me much more so than the more languid, loungey vibe of the ikat dress and gold pj ensemble shots. But even on Liu that jacket looks ill-fitted and makes her look squat and boxy which in real life is probably due to the designs themselves. I'll get to see firsthand on March 8th (possibly sooner) as I'm going to be working the MARNI unveiling in downtown Seattle, WOOT!
Anywhoo, I'm totally confused about who actually gets credit for the print ads? I mean I know Sofia shot the commercials so does this mean the campaign images are simply freeze frame stills from the H&M commercials?
cuz i thought Marcus Jans(sp?) took the photos on set?
Liu's shots are awesome but look different from those with the hazy and kinda frumpy gold lame pj get up on Imogen?
and why for the outdoor ikat dress shot with Imogen(?) does she look so unrecognizable and strung out; so not my image of a MARNI girl at all. that eye make-up is god awful and posing awkward.
and Imogen looks so completely different in the indoor, 'what exactly am i looking at, please dim the lights on the yucky gold reflective fabric' pj shots? I thought that was Jessica Hart at first glance. that wholesome, perfectly coiffed genteel Barbie girl look Imogens got goin just doesn't mesh or read as MARNI to me...Aymeline's in-house studio shots with her non-chalant attitude and artfully fuzzy hair and thrift store chic presentation is more along the lines of what I expected from the editorial campaign.
Needless to say I'm MAJORLY confused by the whole thing, lol. I definitely have mixed feeling about the campaign images as well as the MARNI x H&M line itself.
