Marni for H&M

Ugh, is it even possible at all to not get annoyed with these collection sale starts? I was at my local H&M at 9am but of course they are being in-consequent with the bracelets system and only had 6 different colors of them (which were all taken when I got there) meaning that from 10.45 on the area will be open for everyone. They told everyone without a bracelet to leave the area, so when I go back 10.45 I'll have to fight the dozens of other people without a bracelet that will enter at the same time. Great.

By the way, there apparently were way more people lining up for this than for the Versace or Lanvin collections here, too. They started queuing at 4am.

I think the crowd at Marni was by far the most... Crazed? Brings out the fashion girls as opposed to the H&M girls I guess.

i'm counting on a possibility/fact that Marni's basically an unknown label in my country, so i think there shouldn't be a mess over getting some stuff. :)

^Good luck with that; nobody here knows Marni (not even the people that were waiting in line, apparently) but that doesn't stop people from going crazy over it.

I did end up getting the bag and the high heeled sandal after some fighting and negotiating with some other ladies  But I'm not sure I'll keep the bag. I had to go to two stores to get those things because in one of the Zurich stores everything was gone after an hour, except for those black shiny jackets and a few pairs of the black sandals in sz 41. Craziness. The collection did look really good, though. Very wearable and chic and the quality seems fine, too.

I just got back from Westfield Stratford. It was really well organised - lots of helpful staff and the queuing system worked well. Very well stocked - they had all the pieces, in most sizes (I was no. 104 in the queue). There were lots of shoes - plenty of the silver rope sandals in sizes 38-41, but no 36s or 37s.

The white and black flower necklaces and the ladies sunglasses were the first things to sell out; I gather they did not have many in stock.

I picked up the maxi dress, another l/s printed dress, a pair of the men's sunglasses and the blue scarf. Overall very happy with the quality of the dresses, though the maxi runs large. Was not too impressed with the jewellery that I saw - the earrings and the bangles especially.

That's because all of the 36's and 37's were clearly at the Regent Street store for the launch last night! Annoying distribution of them clearly..

I did notice the earrings are all clip ons, which my friends thought was a let down.

I hope you all had better luck than me! In Portugal only one store ever stocks the designers collections, and this time there were NO BRACELETS so when the store opened at 10 o'clock it was a free for all. Everything disappeared in under two minutes.

Stock was very limited, no more than eight or ten of each style.

Worse, instead of holding the press + bloggers pre-sale the night before as usual, they did it this morning at eight thirty. So all the people who were standing outside the store in the cold since seven o'clock had to watch as they all left the store with armfuls and armfuls of shopping bags.

Predictably, some items were already sold out thanks to the pre-sale, and for others all smaller sizes were gone. I did get the piece I wanted, but one size larger than mine and now I have to take it to the seamstress for alterations.

I got the brown & blue men's bag for me and the men's parka for my brother when I got to the stores at about 10:30. There were tons of black sandals and heels left, as well as some of the clothes. And just now I finally got into the online shop and ordered a black flower necklace, the white/rhinestone bracelet and the b/w/rhinestone earrings.

so much of this collection is still available online, which is kinda weird.....I guess they re-stocked recently? the site has been unavailable for a while this morning, but now I got everything I wanted (including that dotted coat and brown leather bag).....

i went to my store in boston at 8:30 AM. they gave me a bracelet and told me to come back at 10:25 to shop.

sorry, H&M i'm not wasting two hours of my time.

i'm not going back.

there were a team of people selling items in front of the store.

but the funniest thing was, they had a DJ set up near the doors of the store and the "DJ" was pretending to scratch.

Just got back from London now, went to the H&M near American Apparel on Oxford Circus- best organised out of the lot I'd say very lovely staff. The other stores told me to go away basically with very little information well the Regent street store seemed to know what was going on but the queue outside for non wristbands was insane an hour before they said they'd let people in.

Got the robe sliver sandals, so happpy with them I normally hate toe posts but these are pretty comfy and the brown/cream zigzag print top wasn't gonna get any clothes but I was drawn to it so will have to arrange budget to see if I can afford to keep it.

Welll, I overslept
Yeah, I'm just gonna wait till the H&M near me starts getting the pieces in about two weeks. That's what happened with the Lanvin collab and I eventually got everything I wanted. Now, all I'm hoping is that my H&M gets those brocade pajama pants. so gorge.

im sad i cant order off the site, like you european gals can. i really wanted the maxi dress, that's the only thing and the closest store to me is south coast plaze, which is like a 3 hour drive...

I feel like this is a silly question, but do they usually re stock? I guess our store sold out within the hour, only because this couple in front of us bought over $8,000 of merch. Most likely to sell on ebay. ugh.

They don't re-stock, but they do consolidate. Usually the stocks gets redistributed, so it comes out of some stores entirely and gets sent to other stores that also stock it so it's less bitty. Once it gets discounted it can also appear in stores that never originally stocked it, that happened a lot with Versace. It ended up in many stores around the country in their sale sections.

Online the store restocks usually in the early hours of the morning. Well, here in the UK it does anyone. It's around 3/4am usually...

central h&m store in Rome had almost every item still in store this afternoon - i wasn't interested in this collection (as much as i love marni i didn't like anything) but i passed by and they still had plenty of stuff.

if you live in the US, returns or leftover stock are usually sent to the 5th avenue store in NYC. :flower:

if the items are defective or damaged they will leave them in the original store.

so..i was wrong, people over here do know about marni cus i went today and all the necklaces, that basic t-shirt and belts were sold out. that blue circle blouse was also MIA, silver sandals were only left in 37, but there were tons of those greenish bags, sofia coppola's PJ combo she wore (i was so disapointed to see that the shirt was 100% polyester and was 120 dollars, i mean :() and skirts of all sorts. basically - either it was sold out or it was left in all sizes. there wasn't any stuff i really liked (merino wool sweater ) but i'm not even sure they had it as it was in price range of stuff that wasn't terrifically sold. they had only few menswear stuff. in the end i bought the sunglasses cus they're surprisingly nicely fitting and with really good quality, IMO.

Welll, I overslept
I overslept too and am so glad I did because, hopeless and all, I still went to check it out and managed to get there at 7:50-8:10 (something like that) and the line consisted of like.. 30 people . Only one woman camped out according to a SA.

Once in everything seemed to be running smoothly, shoes were the only item that was scarce.. the silver sandals were available only in size 7 (37?) and 9 (40), I'm a 41 but I tried the 40 on and they fit like a glove, and they're so pretty, better than in pictures (less 'chunky-looking), so.. bingo there .. pretty satisfied for getting the only thing that made me want to take part in the whole thing. I still can't digest the prints though.. I thought I might grab something once there but.. I find them a little too Housewife vacationing in Palm Springs, and the jewelry looks so silly tbh.. what's the point of getting it if it's not even going to make sense with the rest of your wardrobe?.
