Just as I was wondering when we were going to see the nudes, Mataano brought them all out in the collection which they showcased on Day 3 of Africa Fashion Week.
Nudes are great for the summer, and can be worn all seasons long; that’s why I’m glad that they presented a refreshing neutral colour palette in addition to blue metallic and soft floral fabrics and print.
The colour palette ensures the collection exudes a lightness to it, emphasized by sheer fabrics, cropped tops, mini skirts, shorts, delicate drapery and casual culottes, but we also have a few heavy pieces; the metallic cocktail dresses, pencil skirts and waistcoats.

Matano are the Somali twins who have also been featured on Oprah

Carte Blanche and CNN Africa did profiles on these ladies. Was very interesting to hear about their backgrounds and design ideas. Great to see more designers from Africa in the international scene!

The collection is quite trend slave and some pieces just don't work, but there are some good, wearable pieces here.
The best pieces are the silk organza blouse cut like a jacket and the nude leather bomber jacket.

This is so chic and pretty! It's not exactly cutting edge, but it's definitely wearable and I, personally, love it!
