Max Papendieck left Australia in his late teens attracted by the bright lights of America and the promise of a basketball scholarship to see him through college studies!

It was whilst at college in Miami that Max was spotted and was soon taken under the wing of Bruce Weber who shot him for Spanish Vogue and Ralph Lauren fragrance.

Max, now based in New York, has been modelling for three years and enjoying travelling the world. He’s also a very convincing actor.

What’s been your most lavish purchase?: I recently bought my girlfriend a nice Alexander Wang handbag. Lucky girl!

Hobbies: Photography, basketball, beach

Fitness Regime: Depends on what city i’m in (Sydney, I run on the soft sand) but I usually workout in the mornings, 6 days a week, rotating between legs, chest and back with a 5km run at the end.

What was the last movie you watched?: 12 Years a Slave

Do you have any Guilty Pleasures?: Dark chocolate and red wine

If you were not modeling, what would you be doing?: Lying on a beach somewhere beautiful

If you got to relive one day in your modeling career it would be…: Would have to be the Ralph Lauren fragrance I shot a while ago (which was a week, not a day!) but we had everything from skydivers to Maseratis on set. And a really amazing crew and cast to work with too.

What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you on a shoot?: Well just a few days ago I was shooting in the Florida keys… For one of the shots we were shooting out on a pier. The photographer was in the zone shooting and wasn’t watching where he was stepping and fell right in! It’s actually not that funny because we saw a shark swimming just before that happened. But of course, later that day he wanted some shots of me jumping in the water off the pier!

What was the last thing to make you cry?: My dog dying in December

What’s your favorite fashion city and why?: New York… I may be bias because that’s where I live, but the fashion is New York is like nowhere else. I could ‘people watch’ all day in NYC, in a very non-creepy way!

Who are your idols?: My father.. He has lived such an incredible life and I really look up to him.

What was the last dream you remember?: I think it’s a little explicit for F.TAPE!
