Hi guys!

Can anyone recommend me some scarves for winter, I like long ones usually but will look at anything. Any online store recommendations would be greatly appreciated too!

thanks :flower:

Hi
In term of qualité, durabilité, timilessness: Hermès. Their cashmere scarves are fabulous, I dream about getting an ivory one. Be ready to pay for the cashmere, and for Hermès.
I also love the Burberry one,s no matter whatever people can say about it, and the fact it is associated with chav culture, or even with wannabe people, the check scarves are classic and nice, as long as you don't wear them with the check hat, the check belt, the check trench coat, the check watch, and the check Converse-like sneakers (yes, I saw them at my local store, tragic)
I don't like the nova one though, overseen in my opinon. I love the ivory-cream one, it's very suitable for a boy. The blue are nice, but it won't work for a boy i think. Don't even try the candy one ^^
If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a scarf, try APC. Cashmere-wool scarf very very nice, durable, worth every penny

Dries van Noten, hands down < Check my blog ^_^B)

besides Falielo Sarti, you might like julius

Oh and runner, could I bother you again about Faliero Sarti scarves. I just found out my friend is going to be Tokyo and Osaka, would you happen to know any stores that stock it around that area?

thanks alot

The recent Dries Van Noten scarves rule. ...Ah, the ones I was referring to are in faust's blog. Yeah, those are very nice.

For a cheaper route, I went to a Seattle 'international/African' store and they had some open-weave, tussah silk scarves for around $30 (hand made in Nepal). Most of them were not my style, but there were a couple of nice subued palette & solid black scarves. Surprisingly warm. I doubt these kinds of scarves are a rarity.

you're welcome Honey~Blade

lift
but most of it (spring stuff though) is already sold. only a few pieces there now, which I don't think you might want to get.
when will your friend come?
anyway they bought A/W 06 too, so it will be there in two months.

:woot:

THANKS so much again, runner! Those are awesome! My friend will be in Japan around October.

I'm wondering about those Julius scarves, I like their texture and look. Do you know if they're good or not in person?

Those dries scarves are beautiful! Thanks for the heads up, faust and andrew :flower:

oh runner, in your experience what fabrics are best in sarti scarves? i saw a 70% cashmere 30% silk (didn't feel like cashemere at all- probably because it was so thin?). i see his cotton scarves are prcied only Y1000 less- why is this?

Great topic HB, I was just thinking about the same thing now that the weather is getting colder here. I'm guessing nothing you can find locally does it for you? (I wouldn't blame you :P) The Julius scarves I saw on japanese online shops seemed to get sold out pretty quickly compared to the rest of their items..

Nice suggestions as always, runner.

Wow, faust - I had no idea Dries made such amazing scarves! Such attention to detail..

Avant, I'm definitely looking for a very nice scarf. Sydney has close to nothing interesting, as of now I'm waiting for my friend to knit me one ^_^ but besides that it looks like I'll have to wait til my buddy heads to Japan.

I actually wouldn't mind getting some of those dries scarves atm, they're beautiful even though they're SS and kinda pointless for the current weather.

Ya, dries is the man when it comes to scarves. I keep meaning to post a picture of mine, but it's at home. Must not forget.

I think julius ones are good. but it can be very raw sometimes, so it would be dangerous to wear light/pale color pieces with it since the color may rub off onto them.

personally anything textural or subdued in color can be good no matter what the material is about FS.
also I like cotton jersey very thin.

1000 yen, 10 dollars?
I don't know why that is.
there are some sizes though.
