Metallic Moments S/S 07

oh, i love this. it seems quite new to what we know as 'metallics', or the images we tend to associate with the word anyway. i like that most of these examples seem to be blended with pastel colors so it's not that obvious, it's unusual but very quiet and less flamboyant than past seasons. thanks for bringing this in, madame chrissy. :P

you're very welcome ^_^

i really liked that the metallics seemed more quiet than in past seasons as well.. i think they're easier to wear and a lot more subtle

i tried on a pair of sort of dull mettalic, mesh sort of booties the other day  .... they were great but I decided I couldn't really afford to spend $200 on them right now since i don't need them :(

I'll probably regret it later but for now I must resist temptation!

I don't think all of the examples posted are about the metallics.

I'm bored of metallics, especially the strong ones and gold.

Don't much like the gaudy christmas trinkets in post #13, but the rest are lovely

Elie Saab - his entire collection was gold...

I was JUST going to post about Elie Saab. ALL Gold. And in my eyes, ALL fabulous.

I like how the silver at Celine was paired with nude heels... I think it looks fantastic.

it's surprising that this trend is popular for so long... I think past 4 seasons or even more ... I like it anyway

^ I think it's just part of the glitz and glam of the new millennium... I think there's something here for everybody, whether you like silver, gold, bronze...

the balenciaga dresses are quite spectacular... would i wear them? no too flashy....

same goes for metallic... :innocent:

i think metallic is usually done best when it is used as an accent or just on the top/bottom... unless it is of some of those more muted tones/shades of the color...

otherwise it can look a bit overwhelming and too "look at me! look at me!"

though the cacharel looks above are all-over gold, the tone of the color isn't off-putting to me because it's a lighter, less out there sort of gold..

i would agree that there is definitely something out there for everyone when it comes to the metallics this season... whether it is a muted silvery/gray or a 24 karat gold head to toe glittering ensemble
