I'm getting over the shock that there wasn't a thread on him already. :P

Multitalented, english Michael Roberts is a living legend of international fashion. He has became known for working, through decades, as a journalist, editor, illustrator, photographer and colagiste for titles like The Sunday Times and Tatler. Since 1997, he's director of fashion of The New Yorker. Tina Brown actually referred to him as "the Jean Cocteau of the fashion world".

He has only done four portraits among his dozens of illustrations: Grace Coddington, Karl Lagerfeld, Lenny Niemeier (brazilian bikini designer and famous for her great parties) and Naomi Campbell. The last one was published in Vogue BR, in Naomi's special issue. I have it, but my scanner is broken. He doesn't talk about it, but rumour has it that even Madonna is on the waiting list for hers.

He has two books published, and both I'll own someday!
