Michelle Phillips (b. 1944), one quarter of The Mamas & The Papas, was the undisputed princess of the fabled late '60s and early '70s LA music scene. Her exquisite face, elfin frame, and heady lifestyle made her the object of desire not just of her male fellow band members, but also Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty and Dennis Hopper; her clothes, meanwhile, mirrored her extraordinarily glamourous lifestlye. Here, Handbag picks some of her best fashion moments.

I have to say, that I know Michelle Phillips of course and always knew she was beautiful but did not realize how flawless she was.. She did not ever take a bad picture! She reminds me a bit of Aline Weber, the Brazilian model. If Michelle was young today, she would probably be a top model (if she hadn't become a singer); unless she was short, which I guess you said she was when referring to her elfin frame...
The other woman in the 3rd photo & the photo "Michelle Phillips, centre, attends the funeral of Mama Cass, with a John Phillips" (to whom she was married between 1962 and 1970) and a friend, 1974.... is Genevieve Waite, Bijou Phillips mother.
