Live Streaming... The F/W 2025.26 Fashion Shows
details.comIn our ongoing series, Model in the Spotlight, we get up close and personal with the world's leading male models.
This Danish model is the epitome of effortless, European cool. Known for his collection of tattoos, Mikkel Jensen frequently opts for a toned-down look with no accessories so his body art can do the talking.
Age: 22
Height: 6' 1.5"
Hometown: Copenhagen
Agency: Soul Artist Management
How were you discovered? I was asked a few times while working at Acne Studios. I was working in the men's store, running the daily business.
Are you tired of having to explain what all of your tattoos mean? Not really, I like when people take an interest in my tattoos. My favorite is the one on my chest. It is an hourglass with wings to symbolize that time is "flying away." I had it made because I have had such a great time the last couple years and it feels like the time goes by too fast. I like it the most cause it reminds me of all the good things in my life. Of course the one with my brother, sister, mom and dads birth dates means a lot to me as well...
The best part about modeling: Getting to see the world. Ibiza has been my favorite so far—it was beautiful.
The worst part about modeling: All of the waiting! Waiting in between shoots, waiting at castings, etc. That and you never know what you have to do tomorrow or next week.
Do you prefer runway or photo shoots? Photo shoots, without a doubt. There's so much more room for creativity. On the runway the models always have to do the same thing. Same face, same walk and so on. On a shoot there is so much more you can do. You can change the clothes, hair or makeup, setting or poses while working. And you can work together and communicate. On a show everyone is just doing their own thing and every is so, so stressed!
The craziest thing you've ever been asked to model: My first season in New York I had a shoot with a woman and three other guys that that was interesting. We were basically wearing nothing and were covered in plastic.
Best piece of swag you got to keep: This amazing golden panda head ring from Nicola Formichetti.
Your favorite designer: Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, Nicola Formichetti for his insane creativity, and Rick Owens for his shoes.
The one item from your wardrobe you'd save in a fire: My Acne shearling jacket.
If you could raid anyone's closet whose would it be and why? Michael Jackson. Not to wear it, but just to have it!
What's on your wrist? Just my tattoos. I almost never have anything on my wrist.
How do you stay in shape? I do CrossFit everyday if possible. I really love it. When I'm not doing CrossFit, I love running, rowing, and swimming.
What's your grooming routine? I wash my face every night with a Kiehl's scrub and then use Kiehl's a recovery cream afterwards as well. In the morning I just use a facial moisturizer. And for my hair, most of the time I just wear a cap, but if I don't then I use a mud wax from this Danish brand called Dennis Knudsen.
You're best quality: If I do something, I do it 100%.
If you could change one thing about your body, it would be: My bad knees.
Best piece of advice (either work or personal) you've ever been given, and who gave you that advice? "Don't lose yourself." —Jason Kanner, the CEO of my agency, Soul Artist Management.
Today's look was spotted on model Mikkel Jensen, who was out shopping with his girlfriend.
