MINNA PARIKKA LIKES PLAYFUL SEDUCTION

The Minna Parikka brand is all about gingerbread-edged femininity with an extra spoonful of sweetness. Mouth-watering colours, delicately chosen materials, heels shaped like starlets' hips and details as happy as silver-screen endings - all wrapped up in a single package. It is a collection of shoes and matching bags as tempting as a candy shop for a little girl.

Minna Parikka’s debuting autumn/winter 2006 accessory collection consists of four themes with emphasis on the shoes. Swan wings shaped beautifully from leather with beige-gold embroidery, nerve tingling soft and warm ice-skating gear and gingerbread shapes so hot they might have come straight from the oven. The fourth theme is a flirty modern girl’s version of the 50’s teddy boy classic. Its light rubber sole makes this style right for women who like to slip into something more comfortable every now and then. All the styles are given nicknames, like Minnie, Sweet-Heart and Dolly, which shows that these girls have been raised with love and care.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, this young designer adds a touch of playful seduction to what is often sexless Scandinavian design. The collection is riding high on the new wave of romance. All accessories are designed and created with passion and freedom and with no hint of compromise. They are manufactured in the same Spanish family-run factory in Alicante, which for years only has made established English designers Lulu Guinness and Nicole Farhi shoe collections.

Though the head may be high in the clouds, the feet are still firmly touching the ground!

aww... thanks for sharing this! these are so sweet! ^_^

Looks fun, even though I have usually disliked Finnish fashion design.

there has been lots of articles about her in finnish fashion magazines :flower: i really like her desings and all those little details that she ads to the shoes. i should go visit her store in helsinki ^_^

I really like these, does anyone know how much her shoes cost?

I'm glad that there is a thread for her..she is very talented.

anywhere to find them online?? i cant believe there's a store selling them in rome and not in milan O.o

They are too "fairlytale" like for my style.

I got a pair of her booties on sale at anthropologie for $78 and the retail price was about $245. I've never heard of her until I got them. I'll post them up when I get home.

I've tried to figure out what Minna's new A/W 2010 is all about but I just cannot get it. I'm not that big expert in shoes, but from my point of view her new shoes don't match my eye. Still a lot of bright colours as before, but with awful lot of hearts and lips as details. To me they look still very individual and original, but not beautiful.

Minna Parikka had to take Rita shoes and Mistress Gloves away from the latest collection of hers. They were in shops for few months. But now Adidas didn't like it and Minna had to make an arrangement with Adidas to take the products away from the stores. Some say that because of all this those models are special and hard to find, so their price might get higher very soon.
