MINNA PARIKKA LIKES PLAYFUL SEDUCTION
The Minna Parikka brand is all about gingerbread-edged femininity with an extra spoonful of sweetness. Mouth-watering colours, delicately chosen materials, heels shaped like starlets' hips and details as happy as silver-screen endings - all wrapped up in a single package. It is a collection of shoes and matching bags as tempting as a candy shop for a little girl.
Minna Parikka’s debuting autumn/winter 2006 accessory collection consists of four themes with emphasis on the shoes. Swan wings shaped beautifully from leather with beige-gold embroidery, nerve tingling soft and warm ice-skating gear and gingerbread shapes so hot they might have come straight from the oven. The fourth theme is a flirty modern girl’s version of the 50’s teddy boy classic. Its light rubber sole makes this style right for women who like to slip into something more comfortable every now and then. All the styles are given nicknames, like Minnie, Sweet-Heart and Dolly, which shows that these girls have been raised with love and care.
Based in Helsinki, Finland, this young designer adds a touch of playful seduction to what is often sexless Scandinavian design. The collection is riding high on the new wave of romance. All accessories are designed and created with passion and freedom and with no hint of compromise. They are manufactured in the same Spanish family-run factory in Alicante, which for years only has made established English designers Lulu Guinness and Nicole Farhi shoe collections.
Though the head may be high in the clouds, the feet are still firmly touching the ground!
