How can Missoni get away with having its signature zigzag prints in most collections and yet still be considered fresh? Or is it ever considered fresh? I've just been pondering this recently...

i know what you mean ( the same can be said of pucci) - personally i tend to buy 'classic' missoni styless and so am still wearing pieces i bought three years ago - however they do introduce new variations every season ( such as apoplied fruit then flowers) and the prints consistantly change. Also they must now have such a large archive of patterns they can rotate every five years or so...

Good point... and i guess that's the sign of a good design strategy if you can do something like that.

Missoni seems to have traded in sophistication for something more joyful. Sadly, the result is adolescent-looking.
