Models Switching Agencies

I think of DNA and Marilyn as very similar. Powerhouse boutique with girls who can do both the strongest editorial but also lucrative cosmetics, fragrance etc. And also a plethora of sexy, body model type girls.

I was hoping that she would go to IMG though to take her to the next level though.

I also thought she might of been one of the girls moving to The Society because she's with Elite Paris...I wonder if her international placement is going to change.

It probably will, eventually. I thought The Society too, since 2 bookers from Marilyn went over there. DNA is great, just sucks that Marilyn put all that work into her.

Ah hm, interesting. Considering Constance and Eniko are also both with Elite Paris. Lindsey Wixson is also managed by the same booker as Constance and so is Liu Wen. Lindsey recently left Marilyn Paris for Elite Paris as well...

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds as this looks like a crop of Marilyn's top girls.

I'd say Marilyn is/was the tightest knit/pickiest powerhouse boutique in NYC. I wonder what is going to happen as that team was really wonderful to their girls and clients.

Even though we all saw it coming, I'm truly sad about Andie Arthur's move. Especially since she was finally getting the success she deserved at Ford. I wonder what IMG is going to do to her career...

well all of the big FORD girls belonged to Paul, and the other ones were a complete separate agency. Once he was fired those girls didn't really have to stay.

Ford was a second tier agency before Paul came. I guess he didn't make it profitable but he did really legitimized the agency in the NY market and it actually became a competitor to the big names. Ford is going to need to poach some good bookers with good girls or they'll become irrelevant very quickly.

You can expect more switches from ford... even if girls have been unhappy under PR's crazy direction, mother agents don't accept their girls being represented by a convention scout from LA, a Plus size booker and an agent freshly arrived from Spain, from what I hear... This is a disaster...

What a disaster Ford is becoming.
Are the agents that went from Elite still at the agency? If they're leaving you can expect Julia Nobis and Kate King among others to follow.
It'll be interesting to see who they get to head the agency now. Katie Ford might have to come back in to stop the hemorrhaging but she's been out of the biz for years so she's not the answer.
Gary Dakis is the top plus size agent but I don't know if he has any connections with straight sized model clients.
It's really sad that the agency that really created modeling as a business and is the most important agency in the history of modeling is once again being gutted.
Those hedge fund owners better get their act together or else Ford will become Zoli of 2012/2013.
