Models Switching Agencies

or maybe the motheragents had something to do with it??They werent doing that well

Which is why I'm guessing they are just making room for their newest runway hopefuls.. I could be totally wrong though, again just a guess.

Man....
Its sucks these girls are treated as disposable.
i guess thats the industry

Not more as in any other business actually. And there is always various reasons for an agency to drop girls from their board. One of them of course comes from the fact they didn't do that well. Again, about that one there is a couple of reasons why they didn't reach a higher level which goes from the client's feedback to the simple fact their mother agency didn't send them in town. Then it can also be a matter of agencies relationships (mother agency and management company in NY), they can decide not to work together anymore etc. In Irina Denisova's case, for example, the reasons are very obvious. Her mother agent decided she won't be represented by Viva in Paris anymore and they work closely with DNA, then sign her with Silent Paris instead which is known for a totally different kind of management (see Madisyn Ritland and Anna Selezneva). For Anzhela it's also up to her mother agent's strategy. As for Sasha, Yana and co. the reasons can be totally different and I don't know them so...

As Charlotte says, it's also "the moment" to drop a girl or at least to update the website. New girls are coming in for the new season etc.

Ive heard other reasons for dropping girls (and having bookers explain why they can be dropped and what do to about it..) come straight from the models. sooo. :\

I always suspect when a girl is dropped its not for the most logical of reasons

It could very well also be visa issues, that maybe they can't get the US work visas, although that seems much less likely to me.

I already thought it's most likely that it has something to do with their mother agencies (as they don't all come from the same) but I just found it quite weird that so many girls are leaving (or, getting dropped) now...
Anyway, thanks for sharing your infos ;)

My friend just confirmed a booker was fired at New York Model Management and a lot of the girls he worked with are off the website...I guess we can expect more to fall off....

I don't get it.. so a booker gets fired? How does that affect their roster? I wouldn't think the girls would suffer because of their mistakes.. unless they are merely following the booker to another agency..

No, My friend didn't even know she was off they site. The agency didn't tell her.
She only found out when I mentioned it and shes now in the market for a new one.

I will have to ask her why it affects the girls. it baffled me too.

Yeah, she literally knew NOTHING about it. I was surprised.
Well, NYMM changed the names of their divisions.
She was under Editorial which now isnt even a division. I dunno whats happening there.
I noticed Taylor Warren isnt on there either anymore..sooo

Taylor Warren
NYMM --> ??

geez, I didn't even notice that entire division was missing.. maybe they are just change the site? Hmmm.. well we'll see I suppose.

Obviously i dont know your friend case, but please let's stay in reality.

A girl who is a REGULAR worker of an agency will not be removed from the web site or be droped by the agency without to be informed.
And i can tell that NYMM seems particularly carefull about that, as i know that all the PMST girls who has been droped, have all been personally called and received explication letters from NYMM sent to their hometown in Lithuania, Poland or wherever they were from...

BUT, on NYMM like on any web site, there are plenty of girls who are actualy not "really" in the agency already, as they dont do anything in work for months. In that situation to be removed is just normal, and the agency is not gonna spend time to tell to a girl that she is removed, if they have not seen or talk to the girls for months. Sometime...the girl should come to the conclusion by herself...

If you take Women Milam web site, and just leave on it the girls who has REALLY been in contact with women or has been in town in the last 6 month...i guess 50% of the girls will disapear from the site, and it is true form almost all agencies.

Keep in mind that an agency web site is more an image tool than a real professional tool, the site is not really use by the bookers or by the regular clients...so at the end it is not as important and certainly not a source of information as realiable as it seems...

umm. Well, okay then I guess my friend is lying. NYMM must have sent her balloons and flowers.

i dont know what you want me to tell you except what I already did. No one told her, and I mentioned it, she called, them, booker got fired, now she needs to find an agency.

This girl booked vogue before so its not like she wasn't working because she was still booking jobs.

*shrug*

I guess you'd know more you must have spoken to them directly.

Its not like this would be the first time anything like this happened. Maybe they just didnt get her look anymore, but they DIDNT tell her, so like I said she was bumped off the site and she had to initiate contact

Well, I get your point and it baffles me too that NYMM did all that without telling her, but: is she just off the site or does she still have a contract with them? Because if she's only not on their website anymore doesn't necessarily mean that they dropped her. As fritmayo said, I also think that agencies' websites are more kind of an "advertising" or "promotion" platform and not always reliable ;)

I have noticed that alot of agencies still have girls on their website that have either left or signed with another agency .

yes and for various reasons. As Fritmayo said, most of the agencies consider their site only as an image tool to promote the agency and not as their actual roster, this means some of them aren't very quick to update it and sometimes you'll see a girl who's left or switched. Some others (not many, though), mostly among mother agencies might keep a girl they've lost... it's not really clear but I guess it's mostly to remind people that they've scouted her :D

shes never signed a contract with them - ever.
I guess she was waiting till it was over and banking money.

She hadnt actually pocketed anything but it was building up in her model bank account and once the contract was over she was going to get the money she was owed.

Shes told me all about NYMM, so I dont know why you don't believe her story even though shes worked with them *shrug*
