Models Switching Agencies

so three agencies are coming together?:huh:or am i looking at this the wrong way?

^ Well, "realignment" doesn't exactly mean that they are all morphing into one agency (which would be a total mystery to me ) but maybe their owners are changing... and one, new, owner takes over all three? Maybe with a new concept? Ah, I always hate this speculation.

TI always bring their scoop du jour with such drama ,like a war is going to break out.

LETS JUST SAY....
THE TOP 3 AGENCIES TO COME WILL BE..
IMG - WOMEN & FORD...( just wait and see why )

Ford
Supreme
Women

+ Ford gains big time and kudos to the new owner of Ford for pulling this major coup off. This is HUGE for Ford.
- Supreme looses all and should close. It's a wipe out.
= Women stays the same unless the money booker leaves and then the bottom line suffers but the editorial stays tip top.

But I am willing to wager there are 4 agencies involved in the shift. The 4th being not a major agency at the present time but perhaps COULD be if they snatch this piece of rock which will be tumbling down, down, down and VERY quickly. Catching that could change their trajectory for the better...and they NEED help very badly. VERY badly. The winner of the shift is Ford. Ford will have a GREAT agent at the top again. It's been a while since that was the case. Supreme will vanish as it is entirely the sum of only two of it's parts - the two who have left - and Women will have one head, one direction and one vision / taste point which will work out fine as long as they don't lose the money side. The Italian Vogue bookings will continue uninterrupted. The Meisel studio will keep right on booking the women of Women but that money agent is key to the bottom line. If she goes anywhere that could be problematic. But there's a 4th agency in the mix...or if not there should be. It's a complicated agency in terms of the internal discord and conflicts but the strong, seasoned lady I have in mind - who is sure to be available any day now - could do a lot to put this agency in some kind of shape. She'll have her work cut out for her, though. Congratulations to Ford and it's new owner! I am impressed!!

Does this inevitably mean that some girls from all three agencies will be dropped? :(

This is juicy!
Seems like some big agents moved from Woman/Supreme to Ford.
I wonder what will happen to girls like Iris, Rose, etc..

poor Supreme.:(
i hope nothing goes wrong for Women, most of my faves reside there.

Well, I agree with you, let's not gossip on some dumb comments even there is something about it. Let's just wait for a confirmation and see what happens, gossip would be pintless at this level i guess :)

although it IS fun to gossip :shifty:
I just dont want everyone to start freaking out

Supreme is my fav agency so therefore I am desperately trying to believe that comment about them disappearing is not true!

WOW! what happened to Elite & Next? the 4th non-major agency is NYMM? oh my, another big shift in the modeling business...Go Ford!!!

COACD already had an item that alluded to this before TI posted. What can we draw from this? First, for all the negative comments about Ford and its commercial slant, they obviously made quite a bit of money from their strategy or else wouldn't have made the deal.

Second, Women/Supreme has been plagued by rumors of financial problems for years. Yes, they're only rumors and in the end only Paul and his accountants know what their finances are like, but when rumors persist for as long as these rumors have, you have to wonder. And for them to sell off such an important part of their operations would suggest that indeed, they were cash strapped. Keep this mind next time all of you say Women is the way an agency should be run and it is the best agency in the history of modeling. This only proves that a high fashion editorial or nothing approach to this business is NOT sustainable. Vogue covers don't pay nearly enough to cover the bills and neither do appearances on CK or Balenciaga or Prada runways.
Now it will be interesting to see Ford balances its commercial skills with its high fashion ambitions. But wen Eileen and Bill ran the agency, they did it brilliantly. And it will be interesting to see which of the Supreme girls will be dropped by Ford, or leave.

so its guaranteed that its women/supreme/ford?

I agree about the money thing. I think a lot of people just respect the prestigiousness that comes along with their favorite model getting a good cover or show. But in the end, you are in the business to make money..or else..the business wouldn't exist and if it did, time would be spent elsewhere.
I mean, really the only models from Supreme making a lot of money are Behati, Hanne, Rachel C, Rachel A, Alyona (she seems to book a lot of high end clothing website things) and...that's really all I can think of.
As far as Women goes, they seem to have a lot of the money makers but sometimes finances can be mishandled? Sometimes things go wrong I guess?

This will be interesting to see how it plays out. Thanks for the input.

Meant to say when Eileen and Jerry, not Bill, ran the agency.

anyone know if the rumor that karoline, after being ousted from ford, is going to elite??

models agencies are actually very very very small company about money turn over compare to many other field in the entertainment industry.

The most prestigous agencies, are in fact usually money loosers, and survive or by money injected by other part of the group (like can be IMG, where the model activity is just a very small part of a huge group), or by people more or less clean finding money near people usually not clean at all, that's the case of some agencies involved in this supposed merging.

This system unfortunatly can almost be considered as unfair competition, as for exemple an agency who anyway loose money every year but who has somebody to make big cheque when it needs, is in easy position to attract girls with big promise of money, and let's be clear...has also big cheques to give to the casting directors and fashion editors:rolleyes:

The only agency making really money are the top commercial ones, in Paris for exemple, by far, by very very far, the agency who has the biggest billing, it s Metropolitan, well ahead of IMG Viva and other high fashion ships...

I just read on TI that Paul Rowland is now at Ford along with one ( or 2?) bookers from Supreme. Very interested in how Ford is going to operate in the coming months . I bet Next will have hard time poaching girls under this new management :p
