Molly Warkentinʼs first memory of makeup was standing at her motherʼs vanity as a toddler in the eighties watching her put on blue eye shadow and red lipstick and yearning to do the same. This combination did not become her signature and instead she is known in the industry for subtle innovation, a sophisticated palette and flawless, beautiful skin. Freshness and understatement are part of what makes makeup modern to Warkentin but so is the mutability of seasonal fashion.
Attracted to the full spectrum of colour but deft in its application, Warkentin likens her work to painting in that she seeks to illuminate rather than disguise the originality of the face: “I like to emphasize the beauty that is already there and even if a job calls for theatricality I always stress the integrity of skin and the clarity of a personʼs best features. Itʼs a balance of proportion, flattery and adapting to the changing face of beauty. Even when working with the most known celebrity there is a chance for re-invention, that is what makes makeup modern and magic.”
Celebrity clients for Warkentin include Rita Ora, Keith Urban, Nicole Trunfio, Jodi Gordon and Jennifer Hawkins. Fashion clients she has collaborated with include Romance was Born, Camilla and Marc, Willow, Ellery, David Jones, Hermes, Alice McCall, Rip Curl, Levis Australia and Rachel Gilbert. Editorial clients include Harperʼs BAZAAR, 10 Magazine, Russh, Oyster, i-D, and Elle Australia.
Molly loves working with fashion minded brides to bring their wedding day look to life. She is a true artist and one of the best at translating current fashion trends to bridal looks. Molly is based in Sydney and available for bookings nationally and internationally in 2018.
