Mateusz Hładki: What would you say if you were to answer the question: „why was I the one chosen to be a Victoria's Secret Angel?“
Monika Jagaciak: I'd worked with VS for more than two years before I signed a contract so I would lie if I said I'd worked for them not thinking about signing a contract or not looking forward to it. There are lots of girls in the world who have good measurements, beautiful features, etc., but we, ten newest angels, represent that ambitious, self-confident woman who is the epitome of Victoria's Secret woman.

MH: What does it mean to be a Victoria's Secret Angel?
MJ: Being a Victoria's Secret Angel means being a spokesperson for the company. We represent the brand, we work with VS at least once a week, doing catalogue or campaign photo shoots. There is really a lot of work to do because this company is so huge in the US it's impossible to find any other brand in Europe it could be compared to.

MH: I was wondering about the day of the show. When do you have to be there? How long does it take to prepare all models for the show?
MJ: Actually, it takes months to prepare for the show, especially when it comes to Angels. It is only one day in a year and we have to be in a top-notch form as everyone can see you from every angle and we are in revealing lingerie. As to the show, we are on set since 8am and the last show is at 9pm.

MH: Are Angel's wings heavy?
MJ: To be honest, I haven't had a chance to wear big wings yet so I can't answer this question. I heard from other girls, though, that some of them are really heavy.

MH: VS Angels are the only profession [apart from film/theatre stars etc.] whose workers have their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Have you already been there or are you planning to go there and take a picture? All in all, you're an Angel.
MJ: I think I'll take a picture with a star when there will be my name on it.

MH: Do you have a dog? Is it your dog? You can show it. What is its breed?
MJ: It's a black Labrador.

MH: What's its name?
MJ: Ronja.

MH: You are extremely successful in the modelling world, but do you sometimes wonder what your life would look like if you had stuck to sport and athletics?
MJ: It's hard to imagine what it would look like because modelling has become such a huge part of my life since I started working at the age of 13. I would probably train just like my sister.

MH: By the way, is it true that your sister was the one who took you to the first casting?
MJ: She didn't literally take me to the casting, but she was the one who introduced me to the idea of modelling.

MH: What does the day of the Jagaciak sisters look like?
MJ: Quite normal. We do things all sisters do. We still train together when I'm at home. My dad is a trainer so we spend our day in a sports ground or we go to meetings.

MH: Does your father train athletics too?
MJ: Yes, he trains sprinters and jumpers.

MH: And your mum?
MJ: My mum is a PE teacher.

MH: What an active family!
MJ: It would be hard to run away from sport.

MH: You're very young. You're only 21. Did this [modelling] world make you grow up faster?
MJ: I've always been eloquent so people who worked with me when I was younger didn't really feel I was that young. It rather helped me than made me grow up faster. I certainly don't regret it.

MH: What are your plans and what are your dreams?
MJ: I'm glad about everything I have right now and I hope it will continue to be as good as it's now.

MH: Thank you for the interview.
