who are the most influential pple in fashion? Those that set the trends?
I d say jlo, britney, kate moss, halle berry, gwyneth, nicole, david beckam...add on

Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz, J Lo, sadly, Beckham, and Gwenyth Paltrow weild a lot of influence. Celebrities are undoubtedly very influential in fashion. I think the editors of fashion magazines hold the most power in determining what is popular. People tend to buy the most of whatever pieces are most recognizable (items featured the most in the fashion magazines) - which in turn, the celebs or their stylists take cues from. I guess, ultimately though, the designers themselves create the trends because, without their designs, there would be nothing to draw from.

Shes not my style but J-lo influences a lot of people my age.

I really love Sarah Jessica Parker's style at times, but I can also hate some of the things she wears. But her hits are big hits in my book. ;)

i think Gywen Stefani in a odd way , she just has this different rock star type of style
i think Chloe Sevigny is very influential
i do have to disagree when it comes to britney, the girl couldnt dress herself if her life depended on it

I agree about Sarah Jessica. In hip hop there is Alicia Keys and Jlo. There is Kate Moss, too. Can't forget her even though some really hate her style of dress.

Who does nicole kidman, chloe sevigny, or cameron diaz influence. I don't think i have ever seen anyone dress like nicole, chloe or cameron. None of them seem to have any umph! to their style. I know everyone hates Jennifer Lopez but at least her apparel is eye-catching even if it's not that great. Never seen anyone try to do anything Halle Berry has done either. I love these ppl and their work, but I just haven't seen the evidence of them being influential.

Kate Moss is the most influential.
Gwen stefani influences a number of teens, so does Britney.Sarah Jessica Parker is a huge fashion icon.
Can't forget Beckham..women actually shave their pubic hair to look like his mohawk. Doesn't that say it all ?

I would say Kate Moss, P.Diddy, Beckham, Gewn Stefani, and within the industry Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, M. Prada and Lagerfield.

J.Lo did during her Puffy phase but so much now. Chloe, Nicole, Gwyneth, and Halle are magazine editors fav. but I dont think they influence anyone :flower:

actually many teenage girls try and dress more like britney, christina and hillary duff than maggie gyllengal or kate moss
Btw im talking abt everuday teenagers who arent so much into fashion

I don't think any of them are influential - fashion whether by designers or celebrities is influenced by the streets not the other way 'round, IMO.

actually celebrities play a major part. if someone watches a video and jlo is wearing something they ll go out and buy it then someone will see the weaing it on the streets nd...

Okay, maybe not so much NK, but Cameron D. sets off a lot of trends. Along with Kate Hudson, she started the awful Ugg boot trend here in the states. I never thought Chloe had any influence with real people except maybe bringing Balenciaga to their attention.

i dont think it was Kate H. who started this...I remember seeing a few other stars wearing Uggs before I ever saw KH wear them...

this is so true and it was only recently that i came into this bit of knowledge. i graduated from high school 2 years ago and I had so many different tops and tees in various colors for layering purposes, and so did my friends. now this "layering" style is coming out - where you buy lots of the same tees in different colors and wear them over each other. i think the gap and newport news is trying to sell it. funny thing is i live in a small hick town on the far southeast coast of Georgia.
