Mugler F/W 11.12 : Rick Genest by Mariano Vivanco

i am scared of this model, but i guess that's the point.

The great thing about Rick is that he makes a statement without even doing anything, thanks to his tatoo. That's why I don't understand why sometimes he tries too hard by moving like a zombie, but till this ad definitely works.

I don't know why, but I think Rick is one of the most beautiful models on the market today, there is something about him...

What gets me about the first few shots is skeletal man with his string of pearls... and some really sensible shoes, as if a part of him still wants to have a normal job in a company with a subsidised canteen, where people will include him in the office rumour mill rather than exclude him as the freak... but no, he's so sad and lonely in the second shot, there's no welcome by the water cooler for him. He stands alone.

I HATE the new font. The classic Theirry Mugler font was so much more impressive and would be really nostalgic nowadays.

This guy used to be a squeegee in my city, my friends know him. It's really sad that people are praising him for his body art now, because he has a lot of mental health issues; he used to mutter completely incoherent sentences. :(

So people shouldn't praise him for his body art because he has mental health issues? There is so much wrong with this logic.

Lovely campaign, haunting and it shoes off the clothes well. His tattoes work with the clothes as opposed to outshining them.

I am quite appalled by your comment. Simply because there have been claims made by your friends who know him regarding his mental state and his inability to mutter complete and coherent sentences, we should hold back any appraisal for him? This is absurd. When did it become not OK to compliment or praise someone that may be mentally unstable? What makes them less deserving?

I agree. I don't see how this campaign has anything to do with Gaga.

Though, I will say, as with everything Nicola does, he overexposes it.

I disagree that Nicola = Gaga. Nicola is HEAVILY associated with Gaga and is responsible for her image, but that does not mean everything he does is injected with a dose of "Gaga" (with exceptions to their collaborations). He does wonders when he separates himself from her. I simply adore his styling for Vogue Hommes Japan. This campaign has zero association with her. You are simply making a non-existent connection in the campaign based on the relationship Nicola has with Gaga.

^there are pics and a video of Lady Gaga with this guy, so it´s understandable to relate this campaign with her...

There are plenty of photos and videos of Gaga and Nicola, they are best friends. All I am saying is just because they have a relationship does not mean this campaign has any associatiations with Gaga.

How does an image of Rick appearing in a Mugler campaign by Nicola have anything relations with Gaga? The images from the campaign don't. But if you really insist, the only connection it has with her is the personal relationship they have with one another.

Not everything is associate with her.

Anyways, that is all I have to say.

are you talking about me?
cause this is the first time I said anything

Anyway, all I was saying is that he appeared in a LG video (or many, I don´t know) so it´s not so far fetched to think of Gaga, imo. I mean, the first time I saw this I thought that´s the guy from LG´s video...
