I like it, he genuinely understands Mugler, solid tailoring pieces. That turtleneck made of flamingo colored faux feathers is a S/S 1997 Gaultier reference I'm pretty sure.

Yes! And also the butterfly dress from Mugler in the « insectes » collection. Very crossed-references. They were friends so it’s always fun when we can see connections like that in collections.

A very fresh and light take on Mugler, and I really enjoy it! I still think it’s odd to try an envision Mugler in this day and age as it still feels like a brand that is so of its time to see for now is bit of a paradox.

If I’m being honest, this is the kind of direction I’d like Roseberry to take Schiaparelli. This feels a little more grounded and approachable with the fantastical elements.

I'm not sure. There is a strong foundation, that's for sure, but this whole presentation lacked energy and life. It's absolutely soulless, in a very exhausting way. The clothes are nice enough for a debut show, but the shoes were bad, and the bags shouldn't have made it to the runway, because nobody would be willing to buy a sad, saggy Mugler day bag.

It's not as horrible as Versace, but there is so much room for improvement and editing.

The collection is selling "glamourous vixen", and it feels fresh. I could see Betony Vernon wearing it.
It's a nice start for Miguel.

Casey got too lost into trying to turn the Mugler woman into a TikTok Ball Room queen. I got quickly tired of his leggings, denim looks and the "yas mammaaaaaa" attitude.

There are two ways to look at this.You could say that Castro Freitas was perhaps too focused on the archive and not so much on translating Mugler's vision for today's world. Or you could say that this is an intelligent collection with moments of great clarity, and some distractions. Either way, it's a step in the right direction and it feels good to talk about Mugler in 2025.
