So what are the chances for Hao Xing to work with Tim Walker or Paolo Roversi?

Inspired from the Manro Wang's images, it'd be really interesting to see the two photographers shoot him -- and be it creative and artistic and of course style him like some character or let him transform. Doesn't matter. Think Hao Xing is capable in producing various expressions and enable to emote enough, that he should be in a compelling story(telling). Something subtle yet powerful and artistic would be nice too.

Just think he should try similar concepts to Walker/Roversi's work to expand his portfolio/modelling artistry.

Enjoyed the lookbook and that closeup. Gorgeous.

Could we talk serious and discuss as to why he's not placed in NY yet?

Granted I'm not keen on male modelling, but my impression is that he needs representation in NY to really take off? If true, frustrated as to why he hasn't got a NY agency then. How long does the process take? When will he get signed? Who does he need to convince?

From the look of it the Chinese male models that are in the same agency as Hao Xing (Longteng), they are placed with Wilhelmina, Ford, Fusion and Heroes to name a few. So what I'm thinking is that he (or his mother agent) should target DNA just because out of the bigger, connected, established agency 1) they only have two Asian men that are in the realm of editorial/high fashion; and 2) mainly if their men division operate the same as their women in terms of exclusivity, close supervision and persistent in hustling jobs for their models, then DNA should be a good fit if the latter is applicable. But this is an only and if situation, because don't know how well their male models measure up with the rest. Or whether if DNA men is even a wise start (looking from the women perspective). Not sure, it's a try.

Obviously he could go to IMG, VNY, Soul Artist or Ford... but there's that "problem" with too many Asian men in an agency that boast 6+. And looks like only one or two guys in each agency actually get a decent amount of work. So not that overly excited about placing him there (unless that is just normal with Asian men and limited work or that falls on the individual). Well, if it's not really a big deal then those four aren't bad at all I guess.

Then there's Wilhelmina where I'm gonna assume that Longteng has a better and stronger relationship with (proof from the guys they have), so the chances are that Hao Xing would be signed with them. Now there's another problem, a BIG problem actually. I perceive that some of the top Asian men models are with Wilhelmina so there's hesitation there. However, it does seem that Wilhelmina is one of the better (if not the best) agency to put an Asian male model. Really, those guys seem to have a well established profile and a career in their works (given if they all started there initially).

So, is there a dilemma? Cause I don't know why he's not placed with Wilhelmina yet. Maybe another agency or two is interested in him... and that explains the delay? Perhaps avoiding his peers of the same agency? Or maybe it's himself that's not ready for the big adventure in NY? He is a (novice?) photographer too, so that wonder whether he wants to be fully committed as a model or not. Of course, not saying that he can't do both, but one would think that a new face like him would go all out from the getgo and try to hit it big and start booming his modelling career full time. And IMO I just think that would start with NY. Unless there's like nobody is interested in him or he can't because of visa issues and whatnot... possible.

Yeah this is all just speculation and thinking and voicing, and whatever it may be or not, he should definitely get signed soon and start working and go big because he's got what it takes to be a legit star and go beyond modelling.

Hope that timing and luck will be good to him and are in his favour. Fingers crossed.
