There's something about New York. I'll always remember my first time there, its freedom and contagious youth that hit you in the face and turn you into a New York Kid.

Continuing from her issue 5 editorial with Jakob Morton, a lot of you would already be in love with Ira's effortles and natural approach to photography. In this series, NYC based photographer Ira Chernova photographs two models from New York Model Management, Naleye and Haegan. Completely unstyled, set in a New York flat, she tells the story of two New York kids. These two fresh faces boys embodies everything that is cool, young, urban and efforless, just like the city. Her digital meets polaroid approach to photography is again a perfect combination, in this beautiful black and white intimate image series.

Captured in the intimacy of a home environment, the boys look like they're waiting for something. They don't try to act, they're just there, living their life. We are almost expecting Naleye to play music from his electronic music collective, Illuminati AMS or Haegan to show us the drawings he told us about in his interview. They are cool kids.

To see the full story of "New York Kids" in Issue 6, make sure to get a copy here.

Along with Imaan Hamman he’s one half of “Modeling’s New Super Couple”, but Naleye Junior Dolmans is becoming known fast for his insouciant, throwback personal style as well as his globally eclectic beauty (for the record, his heritage is Dutch/Vietnamese/Somali). Below he chats to us about the future and the trials and tribulations of being a male model.

What’s the most difficult thing about being really, really good looking? And the easiest?
I guess people expect you to look great, but most of the time you just don’t want to care. I want to BE a great person and not just look like one.

Describe your idea of a perfect day:
Today is actually a perfect day.
I am in Barbados, par-uh-dahys!! We have an extra day off and will do absolutely nothing, except a few emails.

What worries you the most about the future?
That climate change really is an issue and people don’t seem to get it.
In most parts of the world we have internet. Educate yourself. We can search anything we don’t know much about.

If you never needed to work again, what would you spend your time doing?
I’m not sure if I’ll ever stop working. I love product design and development, there is always a way to stay creative. If one day I could work less, I would spend more time together with my family.

You’re a well-dressed guy. Who or what has influenced your style?
Everything, everybody, everywhere… I get inspired by everyone and everything I come across.

What tip would you give guys out there who want to be more stylish?
Wear clothes that express who you are and how you feel. Be inspired by your favorite characters in life and movies.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“We are each of us angels with one wing. we can only fly embracing each other.”
a quote by Luciano De Crescenzo, a Italian writer from Naples.

Give some advice:
“It is never too late to save the world, there is no choice between a green economy and mass extinction”
a quote by Vivienne Westwood.
