Natalia Halicka (18), from Poland, is the current Yves Saint Laurent 'Perfect Touch' face. She was also BCBG face for Fall 2006/7 and worked for Bloomingdale's, Jil Sander and Jill Stuart. Between one campaign and another, we had an interesting conversation with her.

* How are you, Natalia?
Natalia Halicka: I'm great, thanks.
* Please tell me about your childhood - What was it like to grow up in Bialystok?

Natalia Halicka: My city is full of green, so I used to spend a lot of time in park with my friends. Kids from primary school were my neighbours as well and now they are one of the dearest people in my life. We still keep in touch and I love going out with them every time I go back to Bialystok.

* What inspired you to start modeling?

Natalia Halicka: I've never dreamed or planned working as a model. One day I just decided to try my luck and one month later I won the models contest in Poland.

* What is necessary in order to become a successful model?
Natalia Halicka: You have to be sociable and mature enough to live abroad. You need to work hard and be ready for dedications but at the same time keep your distance to this job. There are plenty of other things you can do in your life besides modelling - sports, dance, some other hobbies. And, of course, you have to take care of your skin, your body and hair, that is obvious.

* What is your favorite memory of working for BCBG?

Natalia Halicka: I love working with people that have a great sense of humor. It helps a lot with bearing all the hardships during the shoots. While shooting for BCBG I was pleased to meet a lot of nice and inspiring people that I could talk with and learn some new things from.

* The competition in the business is very strong. How were you chosen to lead the campaign?

Natalia Halicka: I remember the day my agent called me and said that I got this campaign. I just came back to Poland after few months in NY, Milan and Paris, I didn't even have time to unpack my bags. So I just grabbed some things and put into my handbag and ran to the airport, because the shooting was the next day. That was crazy. But I'm really happy I was given that chance to work for BCBG.

* Please describe a typical week in your life.

Natalia Halicka: Sometimes it gets so busy that I'm surprised how could I do all these things... It depends on the month, during a fashion week there are thousands of castings, but after the shows it's not that crazy. Castings, shows and shoots may last the whole day, once I finished shooting at 2 am! But in the evening I love to relax with a book or watch TV. Sometimes I go out with my friends or dance but only when I'm not tired after work. In this job you can't be sure about tomorrow, doesn't matter if it's Saturday or Sunday, you may have to fly to the other side of the world.

* What is most important of these three things in a guy to you: Good looks, Great Skills, or Big Wallet? And why?

Natalia Halicka: I have no idea... Not a Big Wallet, that's for sure. I'm kind of choosy when it comes to men. Unfortunately, guys that I find attractive are already taken, haha.

* What would you do if you weren't a model?

Natalia Halicka: I love to listen to people. I would be a psychologist, I guess. Or a dancer, but I would have had to start dancing years ago if I wanted to be a professional one.

* What are some of your favorite things to do in your spare time?

Natalia Halicka: My favorite way to spend my free time is to dance. I used to go to dance school, but now I dance at home when there's nobody in. I love to go out with friends, spend long hours watching TV or do something that I've never done before or see places that I've never been to. And of course - shopping. Show me the girl that doesn't like shopping!

* Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Natalia Halicka: Don't know. I never think about such a remote future. My dreams reach not further than one year in the future.

After rewatching Season Two of Project Runway, I just recognized her as one of the models that walked for Daniel Vosovic's final collection at the tents. :)
