Nico said the first English word she knew was 'Hershey' because she lived on the American side of Berlin after the war and they sold Hershey Bars then when she came to New York for the first time she saw them everywhere like they were nothing.

Ari Nico's Son

The little boy on the photo is Nico's grandson (Ari Boulogne's son) and he is wearing the sailor sweater that his dad wore on a Velvet Underground photo. In this Paris show (july 2002) the boy came to the stage and accompanied randomly my songs. My brother Julien, who's blind, sayed: "I loved the strange piano that you added to the songs."

Ari told me that he was keeping Nico's harmonium under his bed. It was Nico's only possession. I wrote this poem for him and for her after this conversation. It is also inspired by the beautiful Philippe Garrel's movie with Nico, La Cicatrice intérieure.

I am so in awe of everyone's pics and info on Nico! Thanks everyone!

I must be frank, I'm only really aware of Nico when she caught my eye in Fellini's La Dolce Vita. I haven't heard any of her music. But that face is just incredible
And I had no idea she had a kid with Alain Delon (one of my crushes )

They are roughly from 1965-1966. The guy she's with in the last pic is Tony Calder, anyone know who he is?

For a second i thought it was Andrew Loog Oldham! I think Tony Calder was a singer but i'm not sure, he might have been a producer.

The one of her standing up looks like it's from her London Fog ads.

I thought it was Andrew Loog Oldman, too. He was interested in signing her in the early sixties and before the Stones dumped him.

Yeah she hung out with him at the end of 1964 and begining of 1965, but i have yet to see a picture of them together. I'm also suprised that there's not more pictures of Nico and Brain Jones together.

If there was at least one picture of Brian Jones with every woman he slept with, there would be.... a ton of pictures. Dude fathered five illegitimate children with five different women before his death at 27! The first was at a really young age, I think, 16 or something ridiculous. How long were he and Nico together? The Richard Witt book talks about them being together in New York and with Nico on the receiving end of some painful sounding sex, but no further elaboration into their time together.

But him and Nico were together longer than one night. I mean they didn't date but they didn't just have a fling. The Witt's book made it sound like Nico went to a lot of Stone's gigs while she was trying to get her contract. That's why it seems like they're be more pictures since this was happening while the Stones were huge.
