Thank you tarnished youth! That last one is beautiful! It looks like it's from the set of pictures Lisa Law took.

Good find! I never would have guessed it was Nico inspired if it hadn't said but i could see Nico wearing a few of those.

Thanks atoomic! Some of those are from the VU New York Art book which I got it so i will scan some more Nico pictures later. Most of them are of her on stage.

Thank you for posting those atoomic! It's nice to have higher quality Nico pictures. Here are some videos of rare performances. I think this is the only time i've heard Ari's song live. You can find some others from Cathédrale de Reims if you do a search.

Fantastic scans, atooomic! That new VU art book seems neat, but it's kind of expensive...I'd rather see an illustrated Nico bio-piece with Nico as the spotlight.

That last photo is neat, babydoll.

Does any FS member own any Nico books? What's recommended?

Edit: one last question, why does my post count read as 0? I've posted in this thread a handful of times...

Hey tarnished youth :)

The reason why your post count isn't going up is because this thread is part of "The Sidewalk Café" in the forums. You can read more about it here.

I have these Nico books:

The End by James Young
The Life and Lies of An Icon by Richard Witts
Cible Mouvante by Ari
Nico Photographies by Antoine Giacomoni

I would recommend the Richard Witts book to read first because it's a very detailed biography. It's hard to find for a reasonable price but it does pop up on ebay and amazon for $30 occasionally. The James young book is very well written but it's only about the last years of Nico's life. Cible Mouvante has all of Nico's lyrics and her journal entries which are very interesting! I didn't know it was rare when i got it (i just got it because Ari wrote it) but i haven't seen it anywhere since. If you ever see it you should definitely buy it!

i have to agree with the synopsis about the erin fetherston collection. yeah one wouldn't automatically correlate the dark spirit of nico with anything fetherston does. and it really it does look like she tried too hard with it.

New pictures! From the April 2008 German Vanity Fair. The first two are by Herbert Tobias, the second is a postcard to Lutz Ulbrich, Nico live in 1982, and then i guess it's a poster for Strip Tease. I found them on Nico Icon yahoo groups, groups.yahoo.com/group/nico_icon/

I love the first shot from this series.

Shots from La Dolce Vita:

(oddly enough, Nico plays a bit of comic relief in the film)

This last shot isn't from the film, and I have seen it previous, but not in a larger size:
