new interview:
Interview with Niki Taylor
In May 1996, Niki Taylor broke a world record by appearing on the cover of six major American fashion magazines –
Allure, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Self, and
Shape – in the same month. She’s also one of my all-time favorite models, and, with more than 400 magazine covers to date, I don’t think I’m alone. Mother to twin boys, Jake and Hunter, and a daughter, Ciel, she really is a super (model) mom!
I hear from so many pregnant women who are having major skin issues, like breakouts and itchy skin. Can you relate? And if so, any great products you could tell us about?
I was pregnant during the winter, so Gold Bond lotions and anything with shea butter were my go-to products.
What other beauty products could you not live without while pregnant?
Kanebo Creamy Soap. It’s a gentle cleanser.
Being a mom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take time to pamper yourself. How do you relax?
I go to the mall for weekly reflexology treatments.
What’s the best beauty secret for looking half-human with little to no sleep that you’ve picked up from makeup artists? The importance of curling your eyelashes. It makes your eyes look bright and awake. And always wear lip gloss!
What are your must-have beauty products?
Gold Bond Ultimate Skin Therapy for Dry Hands, MAC Dazzleglass lip gloss in “Date Night” (which my husband actually bought me for Valentine’s Day!), and Clive Christian “X” perfume.
Do you have any find-in-the-kitchen beauty tips?
Olive oil on the skin is a favorite!
So many moms ask me how to get their sexy back after they give birth. Any advice?
Just move! Do something – a bit of exercise, even just a daily walk with your baby, makes a difference, I promise!
Any words of beauty wisdom you could share with moms-to-be?
Embrace your pregnancy and your curves. It’s a must to add a great pair of sexy maternity jeans (I loved Seven jeans and Citizens of Humanity) and a few great tops to your wardrobe for that “sexy mom” look.
