Has anyone else watched this show? If so, what did you think of it. Personally I'm hooked:innocent: It's kind of a bit refreshing to see a strong kick a$$ female lead and where the main story isn't a love soap opera. The fights scenes are also really good, actually great since most if not all action is done by the actors themselves and doesn't look to choreographed etc.

When she was a deeply troubled teenager, Nikita (Maggie Q, "Live Free or Die Hard," "Mission Impossible 3") was rescued from death row by a secret U.S. agency known only as Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. What they didn't tell her was that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Throughout her grueling training at Division, Nikita never lost her humanity, even falling in love with a civilian. When her fiancé was murdered, Nikita realized she had been betrayed and her dreams shattered by the only people she thought she could trust, so she did what no one else before her had been able to do: she escaped. Now, after three years in hiding, Nikita is seeking retribution and making it clear to her former bosses that she will stop at nothing to expose and destroy their covert operation.

For the time being, however, Division continues to recruit and train other young people, erasing all evidence of their former lives and turning them into cold and efficient killers. One of these new recruits, Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca, "Kick-***," "Desperate Housewives"), is a beautiful girl with a violent past and a story not so different from Nikita's. After her parents were murdered, Alex's life completely derailed. Haunted by her horrific past, she ended up drug-addicted and homeless until Division "rescued" her and brought her into the fold.

Division's top authority, Percy (Xander Berkeley, "Kick-***," "24") spent years being a good government soldier, taking his role as an insider and using it to turn the secret organization into a lucrative spy-for-hire shop. With Nikita gone rogue, Percy will do whatever it takes to destroy her and protect the empire he's built, and he often turns to his top lieutenant, Michael (Shane West, "ER," Once and Again"), for help. Michael trained Nikita when she was a recruit and is now faced with the responsibility of tracking down his renegade student. At the same time, Michael is in charge of training Alex, Nikita's young replacement, along with other recruits, including Thom (Ashton Holmes, "Boston Legal"), who has been at Division for a year and is anxious to prove himself, and Jaden (Tiffany Hines, "Bones"), a beautiful and tough young woman who challenges Alex at every turn.

The recruits all spend part of their training with Amanda (Melinda Clarke, "The O.C.," "The Vampire Diaries"), a master manipulator who can turn any ugly duckling into a swan and any bleeding heart into a killer. Her use of psychological warfare and strategy is key to Percy's entire operation. Amanda has only had one failure during her tenure at Division: Nikita, the recruit she was never able to break.

Nikita also left her mark on Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford, "Traveler," "X-Men: The Last Stand"), the nonconformist computer genius who was caught hacking into the Pentagon's system from his college dorm room and was recruited into Division at the same time as Nikita. Birkhoff never admits to anyone that he misses his former colleague, and he has managed to hold onto his own rebel spirit, his geek-speak and his slacker dress code.

This is the world of Division that Alex now finds herself facing everyday, and she is just beginning to understand why the legendary Nikita has dedicated herself to taking them down.

I absolutely adore Maggie Q as Nikita. I think she does a kick-***, fantastic job of portraying a character that is both bad-@ss and vulnerable at the same time.

i'm following the series but i have to say i liked the Peta Wilson's version better, some episodes were really good , specially in the first seasons.

this one is wachable at the moment , i like the two characters splitted inside and aoutside the agency thing, but the episode arguments are kinda soft at the moment, not as dark as some of the previous version were.

Maggie Q is not bad, but the fighting scenes are not very realistic, i don't think she could take a single punch from a killer block that double her wight :innocent:

i also liked the previous Michael better, he was misterious. this one is not charismatic

Seems like ep 8 - Phoenix is where the tweaks to the series will be made where there is a bit more of a love story. Personally not to fond of this but will have to see how this plays out. In the mean time heres are taste of this weeks episode:wink:

Love this episode. Can't believe that they manage to continue multiple twists in the story line every week.

I thought you were always talking about that Nikita show from the 90's with the blonde girl purple  then again it didn't make sense about Maggie Q and new eps :innocent:

^ Before I didn't even know that the other TV show existed let alone the movie/s that its based on.

A preview for next week and already I'm excited:rolleyes:

So this show is like a re-make of the old one or a new one but with the same concept?

^ In episode 1 they start off three years after Nikita escapes. Her aim in life now seems to be to take down Division.

Here are some of the promos that they had before the series started:wink:

Might post some others later.

Thanks for posting purple, I'll def check it out! I need a new show like this

I'll just put my favourite preview for ep. 4 up

and a clip from when some of the cast was at comic-con and a bit about the now infamous red bikini.

LOVE Maggie Q as Nikita. Such a kick-*** female heroine. That body of hers is insane.

I'd seriously consider turning vegan and taking up martial arts or whatever her workout is to get a body like that.

That said my favourite villain would have to be Amanda. She just oozes evilness whenever she's on screen. Kind of missed her in the last episode though.

I really love this new show, NIKITA. I have watched all of the previous film and television versions.

In terms of potential couples, do you prefer Michael & Nikita or Alex & Michael?

To be honest I'd rather see neither. I'd rather see Alex with Thom and Nikita with Owen or some random that could help with variation in the story line to keep things interesting.

Last night's epidode 9 ONE WAY, was heartbreaking for Michael and Nikita.

Did you watch?

am starting on it tomorrow seems like its amazing i remember the original Nikita was unbeatable yet vulnerable at the same time. Knowing that Melinda Clarke is a villainess is also awesome

ONE WAY was just full of OMG moments. Michael and Nikita, Alex and Jaden had moments that really blindsided me.

It's really sad that Nikita kind of lost Michael. I'm probably delusional in think that the last few scenes might be Michael just trying to cover up his really feelings in the presence of Percy.

Amanda seemed to actually have some heart in this episode and I just hate Percy even more than I already did.

I'm just really annoyed that we're going to have to wait several weeks before the next episode.

^I hope Michael comes to his senses and realize that Nikita saved his life because unlike Percy, she actually loves him and wants him to be safe.

Percy said that he was not able to send any backup to help Michael kill Kasim, yet he was able to send a kill squad to kill Nikita DURING the mission? BS.
