Interview for Wanna be magazine( Serbia)
Coming back one day from folklore and tired as he says - not looking wonderful, if it's even possible, he was stoped on the street by German photographer Boris Kralj. We have heard many stories of how some top models found in the McDonald's, subway, airport and this story is no different, but it is true and comes from Belgrade. Nikola was born in Belgrade and in less than two and a half years, which deals with the modeling has become one of the top 5 most popular male models in the world. How does his life, how he entertain himself and where he see himself you can read in exclusively interview for Wannabe Magazine.

WANNABEMAGAZINE: Hi Nikola how are you these days?
Nikola Jovanovic: Hi Mickey, I feel great, although i work very hard and come home too tired.

How do you spend the spring in New York?

Work is piling up, and as in Belgrade and here when winter is past I'm in a t-shirt and "play the summer", though touched by a typhoon in my beautiful New York. And Miodraže I see that you have my "case" in summer, when the snow melts. All in all, let me finish this interview, so we can go on the streets, while there is sun.

When and why did you decide to start with modeling?

When I realized that I do not have any other talent or craft. Joking aside, there was no decision, everything happened very fast. I start in summer, but in September I was sent to Paris. And I never thought it would be able to develop into something so important in my life, my profession and vocation.

How started your career?

Hm ... it was a long time ago, I read the question and the draft we switch in my head a good five minutes to remember how it all began. I remember first of all did show for Tijana Pavlov in Belgrade, when her and photographer Zoran Trifunovic recognized the potential in me, while other Serbian market is still pressed "bodybuilders fat" who have more the 30 years. But well, people have a refined taste, let them. After a while I noticed a German photographer, a Yugoslavian in the soul, Boris Kralj, snapped to his exhibition in Belgrade, and did whatever it took for my good start. Had it not been for him, there would be nothing of my career. I soon went to Paris for an indefinite period, Milan, NYC, and I am still here.

Did someone help you? in that?

Of course. In addition to my scouts, family helped me in every possible sense, agents and clients who have had the courage to give the new person a chance to show what they can do.

What was your first job abroad?

How difficult it was to come here where you now?

It was hard,i would lie if i would say it wasn't. In fact only problem was that I soon as I started to work immediately planned and imagined what I all need to do, set some crazy goals, and even on my mind wasn't that brat of these things depend on the fashion magicians, sponsors, brands, photographers, etc.. With this crazy brain of course I tortured myself every day the same question: "When will came my time?" And was trying to do every job done better than the last one. And one day, luckily I got an email from my agent that I have confirmed for the now famous Gucci campaign. Since then, all the easy.

What do you think,what depart you out from other models?

Oh now, how this?I'm getting that we are all variations here and there on the same subject, a real lie. Yes, I think I am prettier, more handsome and talented of all! But again, all those unfortunate boys think that. Bur i separt cause I admitted it. Council to new ones: the cruel world in which you enter, you will find daily faults and force you to work on it. If you do not love yourself or you are not strong enough character to withstand the pressure, this job is not for you.

In hard times did you thought to quit and go back home?

I have never stayed in a comfort zone, not even before the modeling. I always go persistently and stubbornly to the goal.

What is the biggest compromise you had to make to succeed in the modeling world and did you ever had "indecent proposal"?

I could not gauge which is biggest. I do not like to scare people with all radical ventures and adventures that I had to survive, all of which I had to give up, close my eyes and forget. And these offers are obscene Serbian urban myth. Like every story this one has its distorted version.

How much family support mean to you?

I believe that means a lot to me, I would have to lose is so i could I realized how much I it means. This of course will never happen. Thanks mom, dad, Dado.

How did you feel when you found out you're that person who will be in the advertising campaign for Gucci and what is the first thing you thought when you saw yourself on billboards?

I was like (not to swear now, here's a fine version "Finally! Brother, finally! 'Fala ... "and so on. I was very happy, very happy, still holding me this feeling, and it's been two years. My dream came true. Now I have a new, even crazier and unrealistic. When I saw the billboard first thing I thought was, "How mom is proud now."

Are you before the popularity that you now have?

I do not think I'm popular.

Would you mind if they would fix youto much with Photoshop , as it is recently often the case, then models, and models are distorted beyond recognition?

E Error! Photoshop is the least of all the people in the light, believe me! And this for recognition, it is all make-up artist and work of skilled hairdressers. We are talking about a couple of designers who are known for being and, like the wonderful John Galliano, the McQueen's, and so on. I do not think it happens often, so if they like me in a couple of shows, editorial changes to infinity, let. Contribution to the art is respected.

Why in the fashion industry taboo topics: gay lobby, prostitution, drugs, anorexia and bulimia?

Taboo topics? On the contrary. We know exactly who each of us succeed, who use and how much drugs, who someone is doing in leisure time, and who eats what and chew and spit.

Recently, a move the issue of racism in the fashion industry. Where do you stand? Do you think that there's racism ?

I'm not the right person for this matter, I'm not as versed as I can think of archaic phenomena such as racism. It has long been expected to die out along with all other prejudices, which will now continue to be found on fools who struggles to create minimal discomfort and not left us nothing but the pity.

How are you taking care of your body? Exercise, diet?Do enjoy sweets and fast food?

Until recently I held the form of occasional running and fitness with your friends, and now I'm little more serious and devoted my self to the gym and sports. Diet? Yes. Eat son Nikola until you get sick. I'm getting ready for summer, so I would not stand some of the volume.

What are your future plans and campaigns that we will soon see?

Million plans, just thinking up something, and we'll see what will be primarily achieved. It is early speaking. And do not ask me, I must not talk, so not ask me,cause i could you tell you some forbidden news! There will be plenty of fine campaign in the future, not to be that I did not say anything. And no, not me Photoshop distorted beyond recognition.
