Nimue Smit

Like Nimuej or Nimué now? I'm confused but I would really like to know since I find the name very cute. Is it different because of the two little spots over the e?

I've been saying the U like a German U with umlaut actually (the basic Dutch U) but seriously, I have no idea if that is correct  By the way, I think her name is derived from The Lady Of The Lake from the King Arthur legends, who was also known as Nimue
Yeah I think you're right. Probably converted to English it turns into something in the vid posted by Forrest (cool  thanks!) which is a cross between NEE-moo-ay and NIM-way. This name has so many variations, I like it in French as well.

Oh my...how many gorgeous stuff I missed  I absolutely LOVE her at the Parsons Benefit Event (could she look any more natural beautiful?) and her ed in Dutch Glamour is pretty nice aswell! I am only hoping that she will get some great (deserved) campaigns aswell now.

ah,rats!I've been pronoucing it neemoo.I like it :p

The two dots above the e (called 'trema' in Dutch) are there to indicate that the two vowls should not be pronounced as one sound. Which is weird in Nimue's case, because the combination of U and E never make one sound in Dutch (as opposed to French for instance)...maybe her parents just thought it looked prettier with the trema

Anyway, her name is the cutest I've ever heard!:heart: I love Dutch names, all Dutch models have such different and great names!

^problem is Nimue is not a Dutch name...

Nimue herself is indeed Dutch but her name defo isn't. You pronounce it like Nimway (like Lady Nimue from the king of Arthur) my little niece has given the exact same name ;) but I prefer Nee-muu (Dutch uu) -way.

Yeah or maybe they were afraid that the Dutchies would say nimwe (you know the 'e' from help instead of the 'ee' from veel or in English the ee like ay!) and then it would be Nimwe instead of Nimway and that's not pretty! Can you still follow me?

^that's a nice piece. Thanks for posting.
