apparently the two designers of this label are former HL alums and you can certainly see the elements of their experience in their work. frankly,if you ask me,these are the designers that should be designing HL.

^i know mine too. and doesn't it make you think helmut? it really recalls helmut's gauzey inclinations for spring 1998.

and btw, they are a NY based label too. so finally something interesting for a change.

what is really interesting to me is the concept that each piece is somehow unique and there are no duplicates...
no mass production...

not sure i love all of it, and that belt gets really annoying after awhile...
but there are some outstanding and special pieces on the site...

thanks scott...

Thanks Scott: Will definitely follow them with interest.

I see it as more Helmut-wannabe. That's not necessary a bad thing in their case-- just that it's clearly Helmut's aesthetic, but cluttered, jumbled and too patchwork-y for my taste. They're obviously great admirers of his body of work, and it shows that you can pick out design characteristics from different collections of Helmut's in a garment of theirs. And in that instance, it's more of a Frankenstein-Helmut that, even when decently executed, it doesn't go beyond a Helmut-tribute. The menswear looks cleaner, more restrained, from what I can sort of see on the site-- although the bigger pics are not available, apparently. It's all very young and I hope they'll mature in time, but right now, although the Helmut-spirit is there, they lack Helmut's ageless, non-contrived, sophisticated innovation.

No one's still able to touch what Helmut has done. For me, anyways. Fashion isn't precious to me, but I do cherish the Helmut pieces I own-- although they're starting to show their wear after all these years. Like a first love, Helmut's irreplaceable to me... so far.

you're welcome guys!

actually if you remember those collections before helmut ultimately departed…around 2003-04….it was really some of the most graphic, texture obvious work we had seen from helmut(perhaps some rebellion to conflicts he was reported to be having with bertelli) and he did do that a lot in the mid-90's and before as well. this seems more like the spirit of that experimental helmut lang before prada got involved. and you can certainly see in the cutting and the way they construct their pieces the skill set they honed with lang. and it's not all helmut no. i do think there is a nod to belgian deconstruction and maybe even that late 90's NY underground….the set i like to call the 'ragamuffin radicals'. i actually appreciate the rawness of it all because i think fashion these days has become so banal and prissy looking from these so called newcomers….it's nice to see some of that deconstructivist spirit again.
