The danish label Noir is opening London Fashion Week on September 18th with a show at the National Museum of History.
The collection (subtitled Cotton Couture) is a tribute to cotton, as a democractic fabric. Cotton that acts like silk and treated like silk.
The collection is inspired yet again by S/M, mixing and contrasting dry, delicate cotton with shiny latex. Another source of inspiration is a historical trend that lasted a few summers at the court of Louis XVI, there the heat was so unbearable that the women would walk into the lake wearing their crinolines and returned with their dresses completely soaked and clinging to their bodies..creating a sexy silhouette.. the fabric shiny and heavy..the collection is a tribute to shiny materials that look like wet fabric.
I'll try and scan a picture later..
