Lucas’ “La Vie de Chateau” with its semblance of a storyline and Juergen’s sensibility, and Ethan’s “Musique de Chamber” with its gorgeous compositions, spectacular lighting, plush mood and eerie Richard Ashcroft doppelgänger, carry this issue. Then there’s Alvaro’s “Boy Bands” that— whether intentionally transgressive or just witlessly typical of shoots these days, has the cringe headcount cast (with zero chemistry between the models) that boybands are never known for LMFAO With the title “Boy Bands”, maybe an all-Asian cast would make more sense as a tribute to the kpop “boy band” phenomenon; but with France’s pattern of open distain for Asian casting in their fashion rags— particularly men’s fashion rags, it’s understandable that an all-Asian cast would ever be even a consideration, and that the sole token Asian model in the entire issue is typical of their attitude. Eh.
