Covershoot:

Just trying to imagine Wilford Lenov, the stylist here, looking at Tyra at the photoshoot, and yelling, yas gurl, yas queen, slay… Hun??? 😕😳😨😵

I don't think it's that bad? I kinda feel like we're so used to being given nothing by most people nowadays that in a way when Tyra comes along doing too much it's even more jarring... She looks very pretty here fwiw and I do hope she manages to match up with a great team of creatives to work with during this new stage of her career

It’s very dated, from the modelling to the styling. Maybe if we were in 2007 and Gareth Pugh was hype…
The hands on the waist? Well…

these are the better ones among her recent shoots but nowhere near the "blueprints" she talking about

Personally, considering the last 20 years of Tyra Banks' "high-fashion" career, I don't think this cover/ed is HORRIBLE. The only "wish" I have is that she loses about 20-25 pounds if she wants to foray back into the fashion of it all.

It's tacky, dated and amateur. She is a beautiful woman and with a good team could look phenomenal.

I agree, and I almost prefer doing "too much" nowadays (i.e. Coco Rocha) than just some youth standing there looking depressed against a white backdrop. I think the second shot in her post could have made for a great cover actually. Now that the industry supposedly has room for everyone (including models like Paloma) I have no problem with Tyra coming back and claiming covers for dozens of publications that don't really matter.

There are far better images in the editorial, that could have made the cover. They chose one of the absolute worst shots.
I like Tyra, but I don't ever remember her being that great in print. She was one of those girls, that came alive on the runway tho.

Was there no budget? It looks like a grad school project!! Very cheap and Very dated!! I love me some Tyra but this ain’t it… She can do better… We were rooting for her!!

^^^ Not even a generous budget would elevate such an embarrassingly, juvenile, dated shoot that really does resemble a high school fashion project. The talents are just not there. A middle-age woman shouldn’t be subjected to this brand of a 14yo gay’s vision of fashion. And the horrendous retouching is unforgivably insulting: It’s 1st-day PS class level of amateur. Tyra should be livid. First the Essence slop, and now this sloppier production. Waiting for the sloppiest next.
