Numéro magazine is launching an American edition dubbed Numéro New York, a biannual title.

Alton Mason, Taylor Hill, and artifically generated "models" by Nick Knight for the debut American issue of Numéro. I don't like to express an opinion, if I'm starting a thread on a magazine, but the ai use... what a mess

I'm trying to say something nice or to find something good in these covers and I can't. Styling is interesting but that's about it. The photos don't seem ''prepared'', the faces aren't commanding, the layout feels flat, there's just something off about these covers.

Numero should never have been franchised. Other than the French one, everything else looks like someone's pet project on Issuu. And to think this was shot by Nick Knight???

Thee Nick Knight?? Get out!!

Wow - no words. This is f*cked.

It’s not that uncharacteristic of Nick Knight to to try out new digital technologies, so to see him using AI is not that surprising. But the result falls flat and feels very lacklustre. Not that different from the AI slop we’ve seen in those Guess ads.

Nick thinks he’s being super edgy and boundary pushing using AI but all it’s shown is they could’ve had AI do the whole thing and likely with better results. Just a completely stupid concept just like Numero having a “New York or US” edition. Top of the trash heap is more suitable.

So I guess Boni Reiffers is behind this Numero USA.
What’s the spirit of Numero USA then?
Sad, lackluster, Anticlimatic…

The fact that AI is getting a modelling credit on the thread title sends chills down my spine.
