from Marvin Scott Jaretts Myspace blog;

"shot Avril for the september cover yesterday out here in la...she looks amazing..."

AVRIL LAVIGNE?!

Maybe this is for thier October issue, which is their "location" issue..maybe they're doing Canada? She's Canadian. you know? Too late for a September shoot, rihgt?

anyways, MS Jarrett is a hack....

^^ actually the diary entry is from late June so it could very well be September..

WHAT??!?!?! I already gritten my teeth when she was on the june/july music issue a few years ago......i was so upset..god nylon is getting worse and worse!!!!!!

oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
why?nylon oh why?

I'm not liking the expected cover girl that much..
oh well.

I'm not a fan of Avril by any means, but I wont be quick to judge. I thought Ashley would turn out to be a complete disaster, but it wasnt that bad. I wonder if she will be wearing Chanel on the cover

Oh no, not again!:o
I think it's the first time I'm so dissapointed by a Nylon cover

Greetings to everyone. I'm new to this thread. Having seen the posts, I agree with SevenWeeksLater and julesrules815: I will make the judgement when I see the cover. I like Nylon, and I was not too thrilled when I heard about Ashley Olsen making the cover, but when I actually saw it, it is better than I expected. For Avril Lavigne, I think she is trying to change her image from a unruly teenager to a mature, grown-up adult, and it is about time (she will turn 22 on September 27) that she begins acting like one. Looking beautiful as well as sophisticated in editorials in this year's Harper's Bazaar (US edition) and the September issues of ELLE Canada and ELLE Quebec (same as ELLE Canada but in French) would be an important step toward that "mature image" direction. All in all, I look forward to taking a look at the September issue.

i disagree i think she is completely hippocritical and deserves no credit for being in a fashion magazine whatesoever when she isnt even a real talent because she cant write or play her own guitar....and just because she gets married in a vera wang gown doesnt suddenly make her any more special than anyone else....

but thats just me...

Nylon isnt just about fashion, like one reader said they provide cultural guidance and as I'm sure you've noticed not all of Nylons cover girls are fashion icons.Lets just hope this cover is better than her first one

I hope so, too, SevenWeeksLater, and I agree with your point on Nylon providing a cultural guidance. The magazine is more like a mixture of fashion and social trends, so like it or not, Avril Lavigne is part of the popular culture.

I just read about her recent behavior in the Avril Lavigne thread, and I retract my earlier comment about her becoming mature (page 26 of the Avril Lavigne thread about her comment on Oprah Winfrey show). She still has some growing up to do.

isnt that the truth!..i didnt like the kelly osbourne one either..what are they thinking?

oh wow, i was hoping they'd give the moth's issue to Charlotte Gainsbourg. :(

and yes, avril's been on the cover before. which is not a surprise, considering the huge base of teenyboppers Nylon has as readers. :innocent:
