Can't believe there isn't a thread on Oasis..
They have always been in the background for me, I'm not their biggest fan but I really love some of their songs, especially Masterplan ..

well, oasis were bigger than life a few yrs ago...
i loved them, knew all songs, i was actually quite a fan... but,they lost it. after 'masterplan' thing stayed the same,meaning they were copying themselves... so,they went down to legend.
you can find some statistics saying they were bigger then the beatles!!!

P.S. i want noel's guitar!!!

Oasis is epic! Talk Tonight has been on repeat for me lately... fantastic song.

I went to see them last year when they were on tour with Jet and Kasabian, both groups were so strong, it was almost like 3 shows.

the first album was amazing...
the second was close...
then,slowly it all fell apart...

but,they were just too big... my mum knew some songs...
oh,don't forget the song cigarettes and alcohol!!!! LOL

oasis and blur fighting, trainspotting was in cinemas, ewan mcgregor was a sex god, liam and patsy the hottest couple, noel and his ex wife hanging out with kate and depp... everything was soooo english... suede,pulp,elastica...

I've liked Oasis for quite some time. "Wonderwall" never gets old and "Don't Go Away" has so much mood to it. I can't deny that they have real fantastic tunes.

Being said there are bands that would kill for some of Noel's worst penned material ad their best... Hard to believe I say Oasis on the Definitely Maybe tour in T.O. before it all blew up mainstream in a club that holds maybe 350 people and here's kicker the tickets were $6!

One of THE bands of my teens. When i listen to their old singles and b-sides it reminds me of nothing but good times. They went crap when they released Standing On The Shoulders... because they listened to the critics too much (and also forgot how to write decent songs). Despite everyone, including the band themselves, dismissing Be Here Now as overblown bollocks it's actually the last really great thing they did
