Obesity and Speed

^ I do think it is overpriced, and arrogantly so.

I see the unfinished look of this as something intentionally raw for the demographic she is selling to...so that makes sense to me. I would never wear this stuff now, but when I was a lot younger, perhaps it would have been desireable to me. But thats just it -- at that age, and with those "raw" style preferences, a large price tag is kind of ridiculous to me...like ...hey pay 110 buck for this T-shirt and you'll be a cool anti-mainstream individual. Who is controlling who?

I wish them luck...anyway...

yup!...that's my point...very well said...:flower:

i find it inspiring as i could replicate these looks in my own style as i have been messing about with this for a while and have never really gotten anywhere fast with it but this thread has opened my eyes to new ways to create these 't-shirt dresses' as i call em.

although i do agree they seem to be over priced for what they actually are. a basic t-shirt which has had a pair of scissors taken to it!

I don't really see anything arrogant about it. The entire approach feels more like one-off's than a developed fashion business. I see nothing wrong with creating things and selling them. Granted,$100+ might be a bit steep but the premise shouldn't be bashed. Alot of people are doing it. Hell,I've even been persuaded to do so myself. I mean,it's not as if one will be trying to compete with the fashion houses or anything.

I actually have bought an O&B dress before and it was not $300 - but more like $110. So I don't think the prices are that bad - but yeah, I guess the craftsmanship is not that great.

Exactly, Scott. I agree.

There's a difference between Tara Subkoff trying to pass off her cheap skills as good design and someone trying to turn an idea into a profitable venture.

Seen it, been there, done that, it's nothing special IMHO and agree on what Softgrey says on the material costs. This look has been around for a while now (at least in Europe) and already made it to the highstreet too.

Yes. Or just creating things out of the emotion of doing so....

At least this looks honest.
