Orlando Bloom

yeah but Leo had the intensity in his performances immediately following Titanic. he was so smart to take on "The Beach". it may not have been a huge hit, but it has certainly since become a cult one. and his character was so intense and real. you felt very complex emotions toward him because his actions were very questionable. you understood him, though, in part. that style of acting, that "character with intense emotional conflict" is something that he proved he could tackle with "The Beach" and only 2 years after that he did "Gangs of New York" and we've seen the A-list, Leading Man trajectory his career has been on since then. if Martin Scorcese didn't see that quality of Leo's that he projected in "The Beach", i'd bet any money he wouldn't have cast him in "Gangs .."

THAT is the kind of role that Orlando needs to prove he can tackle. a one-man show where the conflict is internal and external. something like "The Beach" or Sean Penn's new flick, "Into the Wild".

Have you not seen Haven? That was a pretty intense emotional role for him. I think he's a good actor, he pulls me in. Granted you don't see much in POTC, but in Kingdom of Heaven (the director's cut as the theatrical one was butchered) he portrayed so much emotion with very little dialogue. Not an easy thing to do. I think he's got intensity when he's given decent stuff. I'm not disagreeing that he should do some different roles, but I think you're ignoring some of his efforts to already be taken seriously.

Guys, can we bring this topic back to the discussion of Orlando's style please...
I can see what you're talking about is valid, but it's off topic.
Thanks :flower:

To help bring it back to topic a couple of pictures of him at LAX, September 27th

Orlando Bloom was reportedly involved in a car accident in Los Angeles last night.

The accident – apparently minor – occurred around 2:15 a.m., according to TMZ.com, which says at least one person suffered minor injuries. It was unclear if the 30-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star was hurt or if anyone was taken to the hospital.

Bloom was driving a 2003 Toyota Matrix registered to Dariusz Wolski, the director of photography on the Pirates movies, TMZ reports, adding that Bloom had spent time at the Green Door in Hollywood earlier in the evening.

The actor has been taking a break from movie-making, after several whirlwind years of jumping from project to project.

his car looks to have slammed into the porche from behind

not surprising as he is acting like a douche in this video
he didn't appear to get into the drivers seat drunk, but his friend (looks like his sister?? well maybe not) seems not so perfect either
That's his stylist Cher Coulter who's trying to talk some sense into him, to bad she didn't succeed cause the TMZ guys caught it all...they like predicted it wasn't going to end well...

Urgh he really is acting like a douche in that video, I agree! Thanks for the links though vmob, I can't give you karma yet as I have to spread reputation :(

ETA: x17online.com has more information on the crash, I can't get the direct link to work but it should be easy enough to find if you just go onto x17online.com!

Yay! Thanks for getting the link to work vmob!! :D

He's acting really weird, it's a little off putting seeing him walk away from the crash knowing that Cher was hurt. I hope there was a good reason for that otherwise he's a bit of an ***hole.

i couldnt even watch the vids. the pap make me sick. no one knows, what went down, but having lights all in your face as your bleeding can't be pleasant. and i can't say anything about orlando because how do we know where he was going?

vultures. i swear.

thanks for the pics above. he's looking good.

Personally I was just starting to get a little back into him, and now I find my self rapidly loosing complete interest. In my eyes he caused this situation, the girl told him not to get into that car and he forced himself in. Just cause he's a celebrity doesn't mean he can do that. Then somehow they crash into the same car. Then he walks away from a car accident, needing the paps to tell him if he left the scene it would be considered a hit and run???? lost a few brain cells there Orlando? Not to mention his friend is laying there BLEEDING.

hmm, the tmz vid played to me, like he was trying to help the woman out. again, clearly it started before we saw it. but, i got the impression he was defending her. that was my read.

LA is a evil vortex for celebrities. I always say he should stay in London as much as possible. He always looks much calmer there and seems to be able to have a fun night out at the club without this type of stuff happening. For the last two weeks he's been a tabloid fixture with them linking him to every actress/model he breathes near and it's really annoying because he doesn't seem like the Hollywood/tabloid type of guy or at least he didn't.

He seems very hollywood-douche to me in these videos. I didn't think he was like this is either, but the reality is he may put on the "good guy" image for his fans and this may just be the real him. Its the same case with a lot of actors, you can never tell until you see this kinda sh*t. TMZ reported he hit the Porsche (there was another car involved as well though) when it was parked, meaning he followed them home. Why didn't he let it end outside the bar, I can figure it out. Typically Hollywood star in the videos he blames it on the paparazzi but he was in the drivers seat following the Porsche home with the paparazzi on his back. What did he think was going to happen??

I said this at another board and they said I was being too harsh but I'm a fan I don't want to see him in a bad light but I've watched the TMZ and X17 videos and that's what it seems like to me. He just seemed like the typical LA nightowl celebrity that expects to get out of stuff because of who he is. Thankfully in the end he stayed and dealth with it (at the paparazzi's urging :innocent:).

Well maybe this will get him back to London where his environment seems to be much calmer even when he's partying and paparazzi are around. I don't know though, I've always suspected him to be a guy who enjoys celebrity much more than he lets on.

I don't think to call him a douche is harsh, if he's gonna act like one he's gonna get called one, by me at least. Some how I don't buy that he wasn't drinking. He seemed a little to happy and annoying. He was a bar 15 mins before the accident, and they didn't give him the test till much later. After he'd been guzzling water. Didn't drink alcohol my ***. But celebs always get off from this sh*t easy. TMZ says a witness said he had a shot before leaving the Green Door. Someone on ohnotheydidnt said (though I can't find their source) Cher apparently has a fractured neck and was bleeding cause she got cut by the seatbelt. Poor woman, I'm sure this is not what she'd been expecting when going out for a night of fun.
