While it is Orlando's choice where he does and doesn't go, aren't people of a certain status in Hollywood expected to go to these sorts of events? Tom Cruise still has a fair bit of clout in Hollywood, and blowing him off may be a bad career move.

I guess Orlando went because he knows Tom Cruise who was the producer of Elizabethtown but did Kirsten Dunst go? She was in ETown too. Personally I think he's gone Hollywood. When fellow Brit Keira finished Pirates she immediately went back home to London, Orlando, on the other hand, stayed in Hollywood to go party at trendy Hollywood clubs, eat at popular celebrity Hollywood restaurants, stay at a celebrity-driven Hollywood hotel the Chateau Marmont and basically surround himself with Hollywood friends. Nothing wrong with that, but it's opposite of the person he once presented himself to be.

Tom is using all those celebs who attended to make himself look better, his clout and status in Hollywood are dwindling. Tom os trying to make it look like these people are his friends and like him, plus do a little bit of recruiting on the side.

I think Orlando should have gone home the second he wrapped Pirates.

Apparently that page six blurb is wrong because Orlando was spotted out with Penelope on the weekend, she was at Tom's party and they attended a party thrown by Brett Ratner together.

I think I read an interview where Kate said she'd never been single so she's probably hopped from one relationship into another. I think it'll be a while before orlando settles down and commits to just 1 gal. He never seemed that thrilled to be in a relationship with Kate so I can't imagine him going that route any time soon.

Yeah hanging out with the Scientologists is a scary, scary thing. I want him back in the UK and far away from them.

It's extremely unlikely that Orlando will ever convert to Sceintology. He's Buddhist and a member of Soka Gakkai International, a Japanese branch of Buddhism. But SGI has its fair share of critics as well.
