i'm personally not feeling it too much. maybe it works for some men though. a skinny tie looks much more flattering on a man.

it has been happening for a few years.
bands like The Horrors wear them and on fashion blogs like FaceHunter and Hel-Looks you see people wearing it.
i like it...and i don't think it has been played out yet because not THAT many people do it.

some people also do it with thinner ribbons...if you want something a little more subtle...or if your nervous about doing the BIG bow.

^thanks, i can actually see the appeal of it...but i'd be more comfortable with smaller bows (though i don't normally wear them, i have always liked bow-ties, so this is just a logical progression)

damn this is so cool too

Oversized bow for men... I wouldn't try this. Even as I am heading towards getting my Associate in the Arts, I wouldn't even try pulling off an oversized bow on me. Then again, I don't even wear bows in formal wear. I might wear a tie, I had to wear suspenders to keep up the tuxedo pants I wore to my brother's wedding. But I would never wear a bow (much less an oversized one). I've always considered bows to be almost exclusively feminine. It adds a touch of cuteness and innocence to femmes. I'm sorry. I'm not feeling oversized bows for men. Bows are better left for femmes whether it's bow designs on garments or even hair bows. All I'm saying is that I don't really like this trend (I'm surprised myself it's a trend) that much.

Came across this earlier today reading about the Civil War. The photo is circa 1860

It didn't work then either.

If it doesn't work now, and if it didn't work then... why bring it back? I've seen some femmes with cute bows around their necks in much the same style as the bows in this thread. I don't see this look working for guys. On top of that, I don't think there will be too many guys (except the truly fashion-conscious) trying this out and making it work.

I think in addition to being very fashion conscious, it would be helpful to be very heavily armed as is the 1860's guy.
