Pairing Shoes with Clothes Help Thread

As long as you don't rub cracked heel cream into the heels of these shoes try Steve Maddens or Manalo Blahniks... For nice stuff... and what the sweetness suggested nordstom and bluefly is really good too...

here are some from dresses.com

do you think they can be worn with a skirt and not llok trashy if the entire look is very dressed up? the skirt i'm wearing with them comes just above the knee ( maybe 3-4 inches) and the boots are right at the knee. i'm wearing this tomorrow and wanted some opinions.

stupidly i'll wear it no matter what but i wanted opinions on what you all thought would look trashy. i knw super short skirts and like a skanky top would be bad but its very dressed up and i feel very comfortable in it...what do u think?

darling...3-4 inches above the knee is NOT just above the knee... ^_^
it is considerably shorter...and i would not recommend a heel of any kind with a skirt that short...period...my two cents... :flower:

I think it you keep the top fairly conservative, you would be just fine. I wear that look often. I prefer skirts with heels, no matter the length. Just don't like the body posture/overall look of flats, unless of course, you can carry yourself like a ballet dancer. That said, I also do not like the trashy/short cheap skirt, tiny tank top, 5 inch platform heeled stripper ensemble either.

It's about finding a balance, AND your personal taste and comfort level. Just wear what works for you.

Opinions On This Look...

Okay, I thought I'd get a little daring and go for a casual, stilleto boot with jeans like the pic shows. What are your feelings and thoughts of this look as I am a man? I already realize some of you may be averse to this and I don't blame you one bit. It is different and it is non-traditional, but based on the pic, what are your feelings?

while I don't like it and prefer round toe boots, i think it works for some people. if you like the way it looks, go for it.

Don't like the boots...in fact I don't like women's heels at all so don't mind me...

I say "Go for it!"

I thought I was over the pointy toes, but you make it look sexy and timeless. It reminds me of how Johnny from Menswear used to wear high-heeled boots under trousers. But your look is even more risque- and I like that.
