BREAKING NEWS: ABC Cancels 'Pan Am'
It's no secret that the series wasn't doing too well, but now it's official: ABC has cancelled their freshman drama series Pan Am.
Actress of the series Karine Vanasse just announced via Twitter, "Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all! It confirms one more episode in January for #PanAm. I hope you'll be there until the end!"
No word yet if this means that production will stop in January, or that the series will stop airing next month. Originally, the season finale, now series finale, of the show was scheduled to hit in March. Also no word if this puts a damper on the just announced recurring role of Darren Pettie.
Since its debut, the series has had tough times when its come to ratings, scoring in a demo below 2.0 almost every week since its premiere, which is bad for a network such as ABC. The series had received additional episodes, but it's unclear if the network will see those hours through until the bitter end.

Hope Karine isn't in too much trouble...examiner'Pan Am' star Tweets of show's cancellation; ABC says "not correct"
Pam Am series star Karine Vanasse, who has been great about live-Tweeting episodes all season long with her online fans took to Twitter once again this morning to break news that fans and media alike took to mean cancellation for the promising freshman period drama.
"Well, we received THE call, #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas. But up to the end, we'll give it our all!" she posted.
ABC had ordered five additional scripts for the series just a few weeks ago, and it seemed like the network wasn't satisfied with the changes the show was making, but a representative for ABC said that's not the case at all.
"Nothing has changed," LA TV Insider Examiner was told. "We are not cancelling Pan Am. We are still in production and will continue to be in production finishing the original thirteen episodes plus one more additional one. We have one more original episode this coming week...and then will return in January with the new episodes, airing all of them. Pan Am is still in contention for next season. We won't know about that until our upfront announcement in May."
The aforementioned next episode of Pan Am, entitled "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" will air on December 4th and be a big one for Vanasse's Colette when Dean (Mike Vogel) takes her to meet his parents and the two discover feelings that have been brewing for a long time.
Let's hope their relationship won't be grounded just as it's about to take off!
Pam Am airs on Sunday nights on ABC at 10pm.

I love the actresses..
