Has anyone done the Fashion program for college/adult students? How was it? I just signed up for summer 2009.

Hey! I'd like to know about the course too. Especially of Fashion Design (that require one year of fashion studies done in a school of fashion).

Anyone could help me?

for people who have registered for summer 2009:

i registered for session ii and received my confirmation letter, but silly me left it at school and now i'm home for winter break. the letter has a link for us to go to and print out forms that we're supposed to send in within a month. does anyone have this link? can you post it up here? i'd appreciate it so very much

I am thinking of applying for the Intensive study for 2009 in fashion of course, so can you tell me how it was for you? was it worth it? I am def going to apply for scholarship, Parsons is my dream school so it would really be worth it to do the intensive study the summer before my senior year, I am a junior this year, ALAFRAMBROSIE, hit me up with your thoughts

Does anyone know whether the Drawing & Design course has anything to do with fashion design?

just from what i have gleamed, the drawing and design course is more for just, well drawing and design in the general sense and fashion design is more geared towards fashion drawing, i talked to a friend and asked, hope it helps. I am sending in my app this week.

Okay, thanks. I tried to sign up for the fashion design course but it was full. So I'm stuck with drawing + design. oh well.

Thats alright, its a good practice to enhance your overall drawing skills, that Parsons considers when you apply for their undergraduate programs^_^

Hi guys!
I´m attending Parsons this summer, Session 2 for graphic design.
I´m from Sweden so I would love to hear from someone else who is attending a course in session 2. Drop me a line at [email protected]!

Hey femmes & hommes!
I'm doing session II for the fashion design summer classes at Parsons. I would like to get to know some people who are also going to be there, before I go. If you would like to get to know me either send me a message or email me at [email protected]

They have introduced more classes for the Summer Programme 2010. They sound very promising, specializing in Arts & Fashion Management to Writing & Curation. I'm considering doing a Photography course titled The Image of Fashion & The Fashion Of Images, focusing on advertising, communication & branding. I'm planning to pay for the course myself & wondered if anyone could share how much expenses is ideal over the course duration. Also if the handbook requires you to buy any specific equipment or materials. Thanks

Hi, I am doing the Design and Management course this summer. Is there anyone else going to Parsons? Has anyone taken this course before? What is it like? Would be a great help to know!

^I'm going this summer during session 2 for graphic design. Has anyone taken that course? If so what is it like?

I'm 19 at the moment, but I'm assuming this program is to appeal to I guess high schoolers, or am I wrong? I think it's a fantastic opportunity to have and I feel like it would help me when later transferring to Parsons, but I'm a bit skeptical about me possibly being the only older student attending one of these things :/

I think that is it's for either, but of course, I can't say what the actual classes are like ... whether it's mostly high school students or high school grads or even if there are some older people there (as in older than college age) ... but it looks like they welcome anyone with the desire to explore thie field.

Here's what it says on Parsons New School's site:
Parsons Summer Intensive Studies: New York is an exceptional academic art and design program enriched by the vast resources of New York City. Whether you're a high school student preparing to apply to college, a college student interested in enhancing your own program and earning transfer credits, or an adult investigating career options, our summer courses can help you define and achieve your goals.

This intensive four-week, four-credit program is open to anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of art and design in an academically rigorous and artistically stimulating environment. Students spend five days a week in studio classes and receive demanding homework assignments. Courses are supplemented by special events, including portfolio reviews, Parsons alumni career panels, and industry guest lecturers, all designed to prepare students for admission to design school or direct them toward relevant career paths.
