patrick nagel created an unmistakeable style derived from art deco. he depicted his subjects, mostly female, as simultaneously alluring and aloof.

i remember seeing this as your avatar and was intrigued
i actually thought it was manga/anime at first --some of the comics geared to more mature audiences have a close-to-naturalist drawing style such as this. such as banana fish, ninja scroll

i love the choice of colours here, a little greyed sophisticated
does remind me of the 90s without even looking at the 90s hair ^^
