'I love Primark': Despite having a wardrobe worth £1million Tamara Ecclestone loves to shop for high street bargains
With a walk-in-wardrobe that is worth an estimated £1million you could be forgiven for thinking she only buys the finest designer clothing. However, Tamara Ecclestone has revealed that she feels most comfortable in a pair of tracksuit bottoms and once shopped at Primark.
As the daughter of a billionaire car racing mogul you would expect Tamara to have a taste for the finer things in life and of course she does. The 27-year-old, who is currently renovating her £45million flat in Kensington Palace Gardens, says that she has bought so many clothes her own mother thinks she has mental problems.
Speaking to Closer magazine she said: 'I once went on shopping spree in LA, and spent £10,000, but I felt guilty for about a week. My mother wouldn't have approved!'
Tamara has endless rows of Herve Leger minidresses, fur jackets and Louboutin shoes in every colour available. She admitted to the magazine: 'I've got around 100 pairs of Louboutins, 15 pairs of Ugg boots and 20 pairs of trainers - although I never workout!'
The socialite has lost count of how many Birkin bags she has, despite the fact they stat at £5,000, and confesses to having spent money on outfits that she has later hated but been able to return.
Her mother, Slavica, 52, is a former Armani model from Croatia and she divorced Bernie Ecclestone in 2009. It is partly thanks to Slavica that Tamara understands the value of money because her mother often raids the large closet for unwanted designer clothes and sends them to charity shops and to family in Croatia and also once took her to Primark for shopping.
'My mum took me to Primark when I was a teenager to buy clothes for a camping trip and I was actually thinking about going back to the massive one on London's Oxford Street,' she added.
Tamara, who also loves to shop in high street chains French Connection and Topshop, is keen to show the world that she is no air-head and hopes her new TV show, Tamara Eccelestone: Billion $$ Girl, will prove she is more than the daughter of £2.4billion Formula One boss. The reality TV star also claims that she will pass her clothes, shoes and handbags down to her own daughters but warns that 'money can't buy you everything' and it doesn't always make you happy.
